GOD i love this song. especially when DRAKE so effortlessly transcends in with: how we move from A to B it can't be up to me Cause you don't know who i was before you basically to see a change in me i'd be losing, so i just ignore you, yeah. this part speaks to me as i am in this situation now. i really like this guy, in fact hes my boyfriend, haha. and hes a good guy, and i really am trying to break down those walls. but its so hard for me to because of past experiences in both my life and from what i have experienced through my friends. i feel as if, me showing or expressing emotion is a sign of weakness, and an outlet to be seen as vulnerable and i cant allow that. so instead of me, breaking down those walls completely i just continue to ignore the fact that its even taken place or that this person in my life cares that much about me. ugh. this feeling is definetely reinstated with: i hope they never find out what they already know, know, know as soon as its official we'll have to let it go, go, go so we don't confirm the fling keep avoiding all the questions you'll get teased for many things i'm just scared to learn a lesson its so hard! im away at school, [far away from home] he lives here. it took us a while to confirm the actuality of a relationship, and now its like avoiding all questions from my friends and family because i hatee to think of when i have to leave. i believe that i can learn many things from him, and i have- its just so nerve racking. so scared to learn these lessons in love and life. love drake. i think this song is about a woman trying to get over an old lover. but she is definitely easing the pain with alcohol as her 'medicine man'. specifically when she does that rad little hook and says: "i don't know how to break the bottle i'm living in". she is drowning her sorrows in booze to me. the song is ultra rad. i especially like the bridge, where it feels as if shes breaking down "i dont want to be the one. . ." ah. love it. |

this is one of the best tracks on the album. this song is all about what we all go through, when we are in the situation where we hope, wish, and sometimes think due to their actions or affection that the someone that melts your heart feels the same as you. in cases like these, we find out that it is only ourselves that feel this way, but we can not help how we feel. "I best tidy up my head I’m the only one in love I’m the only one in love" this song is the self realization that this person doesnt feel the same way you feel, and describes the trials you go through within yourself: "As you tear your way right through me I forgive you once again Without me knowing" I think what makes this my favorite song, is the way she uses the lyrics: "And I hear your words that I made up You say my name like there could be an us" and then switches it at the end with " Well I hear your words you made up So I say your name like there could be an us " this song is amazing, and an absolute favorite. so simple, yet so deep. she just completly sets the mood with her voice, you can feel the personal agony. |

this song is about her looking for her man to take the macho, role. she is also reflecting by saying: "I have forgotten all of young love's joy" which means when she was in the relationship with the man that was 7 years older, she of course thought it would be better because he was more mature. and now she misses the excitement from being with someone around her age. its rather intresting because as the song progresses, shes getting more and more frustrated. IE. 1-You always wanna talk it through - I don't care! 2-I always have to comfort you when I'm there 3-But that's what I need you to do - stroke my hair! 1- Always wanna talk it through- I'm ok, 2-Always have to comfort you every day, 3-But that's what I need you to do - are you gay? if you compare both lines of 1, 2 and 3. the state of annoyance increases. the first line 3 shows extreme sarcasm, like.. To Me, this is the ebst song on the CD. I think we have all had those nights where we couldn't sleep, or had those jitters thinking about someone. And vice versa, had those nights where we knew that we were falling for someone, but our mind says no and our hearts say yes. This song portrays that stuggle between the two. It's so cute and the video is great. I love it, and i LOVVEEE CBR. |
