this song is so amazing. i didn't realize how good it was until a few listens. Very upbeat, probably one of the most upbeat songs on this album. These lyrics i think are a little wrong. The last part should be: We ain't even been to the ocean We been runnin barefoot through the street |

| in a interview i saw Jared said that this song was about how someone else in the band hooked up with another band members girl. I'm assuming salty leave has something to do with tears when she leaves. The rest about not drinking milk, bartend the party, etc has to do with her young age and her free spirit which was obviosly attractive to both men. | |

| I think that this song is about the girls that wear tapered jeans that they have met on the road and how most of those girls have similar mentalities and how the girls are luring them into their world and tempting them like school girls hence "knocking them down like the seventh grade" this band is simply amazing and they have brought classic rock back to contemporary music with their own originality....they are beautiful | |

wow im pretty sure this song is about settling down with his wife juliet and how he wants to settle down now. the title refers to what you are thinking before you go into the big gamble of marriage...you only live once...you only get married once. the lines"Oh, I'll be waiting for you baby 'Cause I'm through Sit me down, shut me up I'll calm down And I'll get along with you" they all refer to how he wants a woman to whip him into shape and start this new life with her. He has had a problem with alcohol in the past and he needed her to shut him up and sit him down and calm down . |

i came to the personal conclusion that this song is about how the lead singer julian is dealing with the life of a rock star. "Everybody sees me, but it’s not that easy Standing in the light field, standing in the light field Waiting for some action, waiting for some action No but why won’t you come over here?" julian is saying that it seems easy but its not that this lifestyle is harder than it seems. "Why wont you come over here, we’ve got a city to love Why wont you come over here, we’ve got a city to love" This line means that people are constantly asking for the strokes to play a show in their city and that their city is worth playing a show at "Nobody could see me, everything’s to easy Standing in the light field, standing in the light field Waiting for some actress, waiting for some actress To say why won’t you come over here?" these lines mean that yeah it is hard in the spotlight but it really isn't and it doesn't seem easy to everyone else it just looks like julian is waiting for some actress to find intrest in him so he can have a high profile relationship like all the other rock stars and his fellow band member fabrizio moretti who is dating drew barrymore |
