Electric President – Robophobia Lyrics
|
he's speaking in place for someone hysterically talking about robots through the first 2 paragraphs, in my head, its an old grandpa with severe emotional problems who gets a hold of his grandson and warns him of the evils of robots. this is just my point of view. but for the rest of the song he tells of his experiences with these terrible robots, moving outside his window at night, his hands are tied so he cant do anything about it(mental asylum?). the end of the song he is dragged outside with someone witnessing and a band of robots attacked him. FEAR OF ROBOTS?!? |

i think its just meaningful memories that hits her one day that brings back a sad memory of a person she lost/broke ties with. its simple, im sure we've all lost or broke up with someone we love and remember really meaningful memories that ultimately leads to you wanting them back, so she just wrote a song about her experience. |

The National – You've Done It Again, Virginia Lyrics
| 16 years ago

I believe its a song about death also. He's completely dumbstruck and he conveys that by using so few words in each stanza. The simpleness of the word count relates to the final thought you have when you really are losing someone. You really aren't thinking about much, just how you don't know what it's going to be like when they're gone. |

Iron & Wine – Sixteen, Maybe Less Lyrics

This is a delightful song. You know that Beyond the ridge to the left, between the trees and cicadas, they made love. We know this from the line, "And now in autumn time, lullaby Sing our newborn love to sleep." |

Sufjan Stevens – John Wayne Gacy, Jr. Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
From reading about John Gacy Jr., he was adored by the community and was so well known, that he was visited by the First Lady of the United States at that time.
John Gacy, he was a well-loved community leader by day, and a homo-sexual predator and murderer by night. People didnt see his true spirit from just his outside.
What I get from
"I am really just like him"
Is that Sufjan is saying is that he is not what everyone thinks he is, he has some secrets just like the rest of us. |

Interpol – Narc Lyrics

"Oh, all your history's like fire from a busted gun
Now show some love and respect
Don't wanna get a life of regret"
Talking about how he has no care for hearing about her life, all he wants is her and her body. His sexual desires are way more important than true love. |

Cursive – Driftwood: A Fairy Tale Lyrics

I think this song is just about a guy who loves a girl who wants her to love him back the same way he does. He then gives up trying and falls into a deep depression, or maybe even suicide? |
