it reminds me of my crush on some guy at my old school. its such an adorable song.. but when you grow out of it, you grow out of it. Someone told me that they think it has religious meanings, like finding God and stuff, but i think that may be analysing it a bit too much. Songs bring back memories and this sure as hell brings back many memories of school days and having 'secret' crushes, and being too shy and stuff. i swear it isn't t-hut, i swear its when i see her, but oh well. |

its one of my favourite songs by them.. but i just cant stand listening to the ending. Like the way it stays low, or the way it quickens up, or the 'dede' to finish. i cannot stand it. Its almost too summed up for me. |

i am in love with this song. i dont know why, but it is my favourite by far.
The dramatic note of it: 'or you will die'. The punchy direct orders 'shut your mouth'. These are maybe what takes some back to school days when they were feeling or being told some of these things. The whole confusion you have when your a child.
I can not actually get over the lyrics/vocals/sounds of this song. Its just so loveable. |

This is definatly my favourite song. The first song I heard in fact.
When I was listening to it I was going through a rough time with my mum, and I felt comfort in just 'plugging' into this song and blocking out my emotional feelings. It really helped me to let out my anger. I saw the reference to 'baby your gonna lose/your own game' as how my mum had tryed to change me, and how her love was almost fake and I remember thinking how i wanted to 'forget' her love and drift of into this new world.
I've therefore always had this interpretation that its about someone hating being 'controlled' and 'manipulated' by the ones who apparently 'love them' and that plugging into the music world, be it through playing guitar or listening to music, they can really get away from the control.
I can kinda see the porn interpretation, but don't really get why it would refer to 'love'. And yeah, songs can be interpreted differently, and have different meanings for different people. One things fo sure, this song most definitly kicks ass, in metarphorical thinking anyway... ahh the guitar at the start. |

i personally take the 'shadows on the wall' as a sexual reference and that the relationship for the women has become too much of a 'sex' thing rather than love. 'you blame is at the cause/of the shadows on the wall'. in my opinion it seems like the man realises hes taken advantage/not loved her 'I sink so low that I even blame the clouds/for blocking out the sun' (sun being the image of love) and is trying to reassure the woman that she will find someone its just that he doesn't love her 'and i don't belong at all' and that the season of the shark in life is when people make mistakes, and regret, and then learn from their experiences so they can move on to another season. yahh deep. haha. |
