Everyone's entitled to their opinion.

I agree with what Cecil said about similarity, though it's a lot different in that the tempo is sped way up.

DragonForce – Heroes of Our Time Lyrics 15 years ago
I think this is looking on the fantastical past, how those days seem long gone, yet we all have our own
journeys to attend to.
Heh, just saw these guys today at the Mayhem festival... Surprisingly, they did well (usually ZP's vox end up not so good). They played this track, which I hadn't had a chance to hear before... But now that I've heard an album version, I can judge better. I'm feeling a huge earlier-Dragonforce vibe in this song, though I can't quite put my finger on why.

KoЯn – Killing Lyrics 16 years ago
Am I the only one who sees this as a song about the war in Iraq, from the eyes of an american soldier?\

think of these lines...
"And still they stay
For what they say"
jihadists thinking they're fighting for their god
"Are we killing them with lies?"
With the whole war being the lie...
"Next thing they’re lining up"
Suicide terrorists.

And I almost thought I heard 'reckoning'...

Dream Theater – Prophets of War Lyrics 17 years ago
I consider this a sort of sequel to Sacrificed Sons. Though, musically, I'm almost getting a classical vibe with the guitrar work early on in the song.

Hm, that lineup's interesting... Though I could've almost sworn that I heard Dave Mustaine's voice somewhere in that guest vocal section...

Dream Theater – The Dark Eternal Night Lyrics 17 years ago
Well, it's just as is mentioned in the promo on youtube... about a pharaoh that comes back from the dead.

The musical direction for this album almost seems as if it had the overall aura of 'awake' (I'm feeling this... is anyone else?) with heaviness that would make Symphony X sh*t themselves. Lyrics seem to be far less deep than anything they've ever written, on the other hand (though i could be wrong, maybe there's a much deeper meaning to this song than what DT left us with). Not that i'm really complaing, though: I'm a head banger first, then a lyric deducer.

Megadeth – Gears of War Lyrics 17 years ago
Yeah, i just got to play Gears of War, and this has nothing to do with the game at all. Apparently, it is only inspired by it.

Wow... surprisingly, this surpasses the entire album.

Megadeth – Gears of War Lyrics 17 years ago
Well, obvioiusly this song is about the Gears of War game for the XBox 360... That being said, after hearing this song, I have a feeling this album has potential to surpass even RIP, or at least the best album since then... This song is killer

Between Guatamalan blend and french vanilla roast, I think nathan says "Ethiopian"...

Lamb of God – Walk with Me in Hell Lyrics 17 years ago
Oh god... the clanging at the end of this song adds such an amazing touch. The solo is very well done too. I don't think this album's gonna be their best (yet) but from what I've heard of it, I think it may really grow on me in time.

As for the meaning, i think it has something to do with religion...For the empty hoping and praying for the second coming of Jesus. I take it the "liar" Randy's talking about is Christianity. Just going off on a limb though...

But I don't think it has anything to do with war, cause as I remember, someone said that the album's going to stray from the usual war themes.

Nine Inch Nails – Right Where It Belongs Lyrics 18 years ago
Has anyone noticed that this is the only NIN song in which Trent doesn't speak in the 1st person (or at least i'm pretty sure it is)... In this song, I've always pictured Trent looking at his old tortured self, sitting in a cage. I believe this is may be kind of a reflection song.
