So I started REALLY listening to this song as of lately. I've heard it plenty times before but unfortunately, I didn't listen to the lyrics as well as I should have. And now I did and it hits home. And to me, it's not about egos. As much as it might be the right meaning. To me, this is about yes, being selfless. "But I can live without you if it makes you smile." This part reminds me of the words "I want you to be happy even if it's not with me." So if she was to be happy without him then yes, he would do it for her. =\ |

I agree with Kiss. It probably is about that kind of relationship however, because he's in sort of denial. He's telling her to lie to him just to make everything right - and yes, to get back things to normal. And I guess the girl lying to him would serve as purpose because he says, "Loved you for all your lies" meaning if she lied to him one last time, it would justify his love for her. Just my opinion. |

WHAT? No comments on this song? It's obviously about a guy who found out that his girl has been cheating on him. Obviously, the girl's trying to repent for what she's done wrong but this guy has had enough of her and is telling her to go fuck off in a nice way. :) This is such a sad song. Cause I miss her... and yes, she's actually leaving soon, so instead of hearing I'll be living soon to me it says you'll be leaving soon. :) I like this song nonetheless. |

| I think the reason that I like this song is because I can relate to it. To me, it definitely is a guy who's thoughts "take up residence in [his] psyche feeding the worst fears and visualisations [his] imagination can then throw at [him]" Because this happened to me too, I found this song extremely relatable perhaps cause my subconscience would listen to the words and tells me (subconciously) that this song was perfect for me at the time. I agree with LetterstoNoelle that "..The verses seem to be about somebody who's really upset with their life, feeling lonely and disoriented..." cause for someone feeling the same way... the words really hit home. |
