The Gaslight Anthem – Stay Lucky Lyrics 8 years ago
Where's BaCoCa? And the line "Momma never told me there'd be days like these
Until it was much too late to recover" has got to be from the Van Morrison song.

Bruce Springsteen – Terry's Song Lyrics 11 years ago
Seriously tpwaller, how could people you've never known personally and only know from history books be more important than a true friend whose life actually coincided with yours. And to say that boats or colors on a flat canvas are more important is absurd. Join the present man and connect with living, breathing things.

Puff Daddy – Come With Me (feat. Jimmy Page) Lyrics 11 years ago
This song should never have been allowed to exist, but if it had to, it shouldn't have sucked so much. Why did Puff even want to use this music when the original had nothing to do with what he is talking about. A 2-year old with a rhyming dictionary could've written this song (one angry little 2-year old) "I want to fight you, f****** bite you" - that's just stupid. 99% of this song is just space-filler and could've been summed up in 4 lines:
Why did you betray me
You're gonna regret it
I'm gonna kill you
And myself too (for some reason)

So please Puff, do it soon so no more songs get ruined by a no talent ass clowns like yourself.

The Allman Brothers Band – Seven Turns Lyrics 11 years ago
I heard a version of this on an acoustic Allman Brothers cd and it was unbelievable. The vocals, melodic guitar and lyrics combine perfectly in this song that begs multiple listens.

Bob Dylan – Heartland Lyrics 11 years ago
Great song with Willie and Bobby D together - their voices blend perfectly. Nelson's Across The Borderline album is tremendous with this song as a highlight and a couple Paul Simon covers too.

Eric Clapton – Running On Faith Lyrics 11 years ago
Best version definitely on Unplugged

Counting Crows – Miller's Angels Lyrics 11 years ago
Ya, so Miller's Crossing is a film by the Coen brothers and has nothing to do with Sean Penn. It's about Irish gangsters, so I don't think this song would work, but correct me if I'm wrong here.

Bob Seger – Like A Rock Lyrics 11 years ago
I really like this song, man it takes me back. Unfortunately, it reminds me of the commercial and kind of takes away from its beauty and power - knowing it was used to sell products. I wish I had one of those Men In Black memory erasers so I could listen to it for what it is, a very well written song with great imagery.

Jackson Browne – Take It Easy Lyrics 11 years ago
I do to. The Eagles' version may be a little harder rockin', but this one has a truer feeling to it.

Counting Crows – The Greening Of America Lyrics 11 years ago
Where can I hear this song?

Page and Plant – Wonderful One Lyrics 11 years ago
It's kind of funny how many more posts there are for the zeppelin songs compared to these. I think these are some of there best songs, especially this one and the ones they did in Morocco.

Derek and the Dominos – Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad? Lyrics 11 years ago
Probably because people don't feel the need to say "Why doesn't this song have any comments?" for every good song that doesn't have any.

This is such a sad song, but beautiful nontheless. It's one of my favorite songs to listen to.

Jethro Tull – Life Is A Long Song Lyrics 12 years ago
Ian Anderson played this on his new orchestral dvd. Just before he played this he dedicated it to all the people who didn't make it (The John Bonham's, the Keith Moon's, the Jimi's). It was a great tribute to all those legends who's tunes ended too soon.

Jethro Tull – Home Lyrics 12 years ago
Strang, this is my favorite song to listen to on Stormwatch, although not the best lyrically.

Tupac Shakur – Runnin' (Dying to Live) Lyrics 12 years ago
I was never really into 2Pac until I saw resurecction. I new he had some good songs, but after Resurection, I realised the impact this guy had on people and me personally.

The Rolling Stones – Always Suffering Lyrics 12 years ago
This is my favorite Stones song ever. The lyrics are perfectly crafted and bring out such great emotions. I think it's about two people who fall in love but slowly drift apart. He thinks back and remembers the great times they had, then reflects on what love is. If you like the Stones, especially their deeper cuts, listen to this. It's off Bridges to Babylon

submissions
Stillwater – Fever Dog Lyrics 12 years ago
If you watch the extra features in Almost Famous, you can see movie Stillwater perform a few songs in front of a live audience. I'm not sure if Jason Lee is singing but it sounds like him. And Billy Crudup is playing guitar and if really is him, holy bugger. Listen to it.

The Band – It Makes No Difference Lyrics 12 years ago
I absolutely love this song. It has such as somber and melancholy feeling to it. Rick Danko sings it and his voice is one of the greatest ever. Watch The Last Waltz. You will undertsand what I'm talking about when you here this.

The Wallflowers – Asleep At The Wheel Lyrics 12 years ago
I think Wallflowers best album in terms of guitar work is their first self-titled album. I think Jakob is playing and if so, he is extremely talented. Listen to this song and you will see why.

Neil Young – Roger and Out Lyrics 12 years ago
I totally agree with Pleo. This is my favorite song of Living With War. I had the unparalled pleasure of hearing Neil play this at a concert at Red Rocks. It was definitely a crowd favorite.

Neil Young – Flags of Freedom Lyrics 12 years ago
This is a pretty powerful song. I had the priviledge of hearing it live with CS&N. It has the same feeling as Bob Dylan's Chimes Of Freedom, abd even mentions his name.

Jackson Browne – Tender Is The Night Lyrics 13 years ago
I always loves the line "Tender are the hunters." I know it's referring to those who are seeking love and relationships, but being an actual hunter, I love the use of the word tender to describe what I do. I'm not out there to kill cute little animals. I know this has nothing to do with the song, but thanks for listening to me.

Jackson Browne – Stay Lyrics 13 years ago
Also, correct me if I'm worng, on Stay, the second background singer solo, after the woman, is David Lyndley. His voice is so funny, but the crowd seems to love it.

Jackson Browne – Stay Lyrics 13 years ago
I thought JB worte The Load Out and some other dude wrote Stay. Anyway, the is the quintessential rode song. He wants people to know that he loves performing songs and doing shows, but it's all the other behind-the-scenes stuff that is so monatonous and hard to cope with.

submissions
Jackson Browne – Sleep's Dark and Silent Gate Lyrics 13 years ago
Think about the words "Sleeps dark and silent gate" when you listen to this song. Those are perfectly poetical words to describe death. It's kinda a dark song, but he makes it sound so peaceful.

Jackson Browne – Song For Adam Lyrics 13 years ago
thanks for the analysis. I wasn't sure if by "fell" they meant he either accidentely killed himslef or someone else made him fall, but society making him fall sound right.

Jackson Browne – Running On Empty Lyrics 13 years ago
That is a very good analysis of the song up top. And like opinionhead siad, it fits absolutely perfect in Forrest Gump. I watch that movie all the time and when it comes to this song, with pictures of summer fields and mountain lakes, I lose it. Amazing!

Jackson Browne – Rosie Lyrics 13 years ago
"It's what you look like, not who you are." This song is about a guy (possibly JB) who's girlfriend ditches him at prom for the drummer of a band. The guy is so bummed out that he goes home and 'chokes the chicken'

Jackson Browne – Rock Me On The Water Lyrics 13 years ago
I agree. "There's a sea bird above you gliding in one place like Jesus in the sky" is such a beautifully written line. Just as the sea bird can't physically change things, Jesus can't either. They are both up there looking over us, but it's up to us to effect changes and make the world a better place to live." "The Road is filled with homeless souls...And they'll help you if they can." Why is it always the ones with nothing to give that always lend a helping hand, when those with the material wealth to help sit on their riches and care nothing for the welfare of others (with a few exceptions)

Jackson Browne – Looking Into You Lyrics 13 years ago

Jackson Browne – Lives In The Balance Lyrics 13 years ago
"But there never the ones to fight or to die" - Bush took a duty as a national guardsmen so he wouldn't have to die for his country, something he claims to be the essence of patritiosm. And then he has the audactiy to send other young kids to die when he was to cowardly to do it himself.

Jackson Browne – Lawyers In Love Lyrics 13 years ago
Partly. Lawyers in Love is such a perfect title that it could really stand alone. Love is such a spontaneous thing with no rules or guidelines. The ideas of Lawyers partaking in love and getting married is so strange. How could two people that milk other perople for money and have no emotions fall in love.

Jackson Browne – Farther On Lyrics 13 years ago
I agree 100% with your comment on Late For The Sky being one of the most brilliantly written albums. This song along with Late For The Sky, For A Dancer, Before the Deluge, etc. make it one of the best albums I've had the pleasure of listening to. Many musicians from the 70's had good ideas in their songs, but none wrote so perfectly as Jackson. He is the only writer I know that can capture you with a few words and still have it mean so much

Jackson Browne – For Everyman Lyrics 13 years ago
Jackson Browne wrote this song in response to CS&N's Wooden Ships. Wooden Ships is about a group of people who leave this world on ships and sail away to a better place. After hearing the song, Jackson asked "What about everyone else" and wrote For Everyman. I remember listeniong to this song after Bush won the election in 2004. It hit home so perfectly. I felt like leaving for someplace else - Canada perhaps. After hearing the song, I realized I wasn't the only one with these fealings, and that if I stayed here I could take a stand and perhaps make things better.

Jackson Browne – Colors of the Sun Lyrics 13 years ago
I love the line "disillusioned savior search the sky, wanting just to show somenone the way." To me the line isabout someone who has visions of saving people via his thoughts and ideas, but can't find anyone to listen.

Jackson Browne – Before The Deluge Lyrics 13 years ago
If this is what the song means to you guys, that is fine, but you are all way off. The song - one of my favorites ever - isn't that hard to decipher. It's about a group of people who wanted a simpler life. The first verse reminds me of Lewis and Clark. They went on a journey through the heart of nature. The second verse makes me think of indians. "Their feathers once so fine, grew torn and tattered." The indians were eventually forced to reservations. They were forced to trade their lifestyles for an easier one filled with modern conveniences. As more and more people populated and exploited the wild places of the earth, a new group of people rose up in protest of the degredation of mother earth. But they were swept away by "the men who learned how to forge her beatuy into power". I don't know where Kafziel go the disco references, but I sure don't see them. Parts of the song can be related to war and nuclear bombs, but that isn't the essence of the song's meanings. Before long, the world will wake up and see that we can't continue on the path we are or the world as we know it will be no more. Let's hope that days comes soon, before it's too late.

Indigo Girls – Galileo Lyrics 13 years ago
To show how great of song this is - Jackson Browne and David Crosby sing backup on it. These are two of the greatest lyricists ever - singing on a very well-written song.

Hootie & the Blowfish – The Killing Stone Lyrics 13 years ago
This is a great protest song. Preists, religious figures, etc. talk about the sanctity of life, but apparently it only applies to feelow christians. Jerry Falwell gets on tv after 911 as says" Kill them all(iraqis) in the name of Jesus. When and how did Jesus' messages of peace and tolerance become so altered.
