i love this song, but does anyone else have any ideas about the actual meaning? like as an overall song? and is it just me or is that middle bit with 'i gotta take what i make' etc super catchy? it sounds like itd be smthn deep/spiritual, but that 'i gotta take' bit suggests maybe never living up to unrealistic expectations of perhaps a father/father figure? and i know the digesting legs bit has been clarified, but i guess it could also be interpreted in unison with 'i can hardly see, whats in front of me' in that the writer can only see the legs of the person they're following and cant see past them? digesting visually of course. anyway i know im wrong lol but does anyone have any other thoughts? im just really interested in knowing the overall meaning |

love this song, proli my second fav off the album. was hoping ppl had an idea of the meaning but i guess not? cos im totally lost.. such a nice song tho. im guessing its smthn about a rship prior to taking a break? "im having trouble sleeping" "i think ill miss.." "free free to push me first" etc. |

lock our arms and legs?? hahaha im imagining a very awkward position. i love this song, totally agree with the first comment abt the meaning. i like reflections heaps too, but there are a couple songs on the album that im not really into. decent tho, im stil a mae fan, and i agree that its 'we'll lock arms and lay". sounded a bit like 'we'll log on to mae..' on the first play of the song hahah. dont u think? just me? yeh ok sorry |

| hahah yeh i laughed at pessimistical too. i agree with racy although im not sure whether they are even remotely christian? the band name implies that they are but yeh.. sucks that theyre broken up tho, i really liked the sound of "phantoms". one of my fav albums that ive heard for a while. | |

when someone means the world to you.. and u would hav done anything for them.. but they found someone better. 'and its so hard to' stop thinking abt them.. even after they only want u as a friend, you would stil prefer to be locked to them.. but u kno thats stupid. only thing left to do is get over them and walk away.. ur stil so bitter/depressed, but it will fade in time. beautiful song, im so learning it on guitar haha. |
