Stars – In Our Bedroom After the War Lyrics
| 16 years ago
|
this sounds dumb, but about a year ago i was going through a lot and heart was the perfect album. every song had special significance to me and i felt like a character. now, neatly one year later, this album is having the same effect for a new life with new situations.
i love stars. |

Cursive – Retreat! Lyrics
|
god? or is it a priest going away on vacation? since happy hollow is sort of theocratic (religon=government), when the leader and priest goes on hiatus, people start to become progressive and think on their own feet. almost a revolt that kasher may have gone through and i know i have. the banner ad on the bottom of this bage says the critical fault line that seperates genuine spirtuality from empty religious dogma. nice. |

Cursive – Opening the Hymnal/Babies Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
this song is the epitome of something i think about often. we just exist. we read into our lives so much and although it has produced good things like music and this album or art or science, it also makes war and tolerance issues and hate. maybe what a baby would think, but not what an animal would. and we're animals too. |

Cursive – Flag and Family Lyrics

almost like romeo and juliet.
yes it is oily war. i have the album. so that would mean it takes place today. |

Cursive – Hymns for the Heathen Lyrics
|
i love how this is sort of a play on some christian phrases and relate to the town.its really cool if you imagine the ugly organ + happy hollow as a book, red handed sleight of hand is the forward and this is the afterward. brilliant |

the girl singing in the end is really haunting. this whole album has a lot of creeps. so does she get out okay? |

Cursive – At Conception Lyrics

Panic! at the Disco – Time to Dance Lyrics
| 18 years ago

PULLING THE TRIGGERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
survivor! survivor!
tender tells people to pull the trigger.
the people call him crying (without any composure/posture)
and he just tells them to "kill yourself."
aubergine is french for eggplant.
so its a color of dark purple, as in make up? |

Regina Spektor – Ghost of Corporate Future Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
the simplicity means that you shuodnt write paragraphs interpreting it.
we should avoid consumption in our techonlogy-addicted lives and business routines. we should have fun, relax and stop worrying and being self concscious.
the world is everlasting. |

Neutral Milk Hotel – Holland, 1945 Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
it is about anne frank, but not anti-semitism.
it is about everyone who hid in the secret annex with her.
sadly, the world would rather obsess over their story and deaths... neutral milk hotel would rather see them still alive hapilly.
anne frank has been reincarnated in so many of us, etc. |

Cursive – Harold Weathervein Lyrics

this album is musically experimental. cursive's offkey harmonies become more melodic in the ugly organ. this song has a lot of sound effects with lyrics to complement the always present bittersweet tone. |

Cursive – Some Red Handed Sleight of Hand Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
this is just an introduction to the songs on the album, brilliantly laced together with organ and cello.
each song examines a different human state with a loosely developed character story to follow... |

The Blood Brothers – Peacock Skeleton with Crooked Feathers Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
this is no doubt about the major tv networks, cbs, nbc, abc, fox etc.
the peacock represents nbc's longtime emblem and is used for each channel as a different peacock.
which peacock is priest? which is beast?
when all the sitcoms, news stories and event coverage become so incredibly similar, what channel (or peacock are we supposed to trust?) |

The Blood Brothers – Beautiful Horses Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
i'm almost completely sure that this song is about bush.
horses may represent a texan theme and the country club represents wealth/republicans.
the president has also made a strangely large amount of primetime tv speeches and "sticks his nose" into the sitcoms, game shows etc. that everyone is watching. |

of Montreal – The Actor's Opprobrium Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
as snuff films aren't actually real, the song uses a humerous/extreme example to represent doing something that seems fun w/o thinking of consequences.
either way, it's a funny song. |

of Montreal – An Introduction for Isabell Lyrics
| 18 years ago

i love this song. the anecdote of calling out "isa" represents maybe a girl forced to do things she doesn't want to. she has been born into a life of fame and business and the bell represents that. |
