Primus – Bob Lyrics | 14 years ago |
The Wall is based about the bands rise to sucess and how that caused them to become isolated from their fans. The shaving scene is about Syd Barret (the first singer of Pink Flod) who often would shave his eyebrows and other body hair as a compulsion due to his psychosis. Schizophrenia is more about paranoia and (rarely) hallucinations (visual and acoustic). Bob just sounds like he's very creative and although he has a family he's disasociated with society and doesnt belong so he kills himself. 'Nuff said. |
Talking Heads – Wild Wild Life Lyrics | 15 years ago |
The impression I get from the music video and the song is having to do with drugs. Wild WIld Life itself makes me think of just being on a constant high and going to clubs in the eighties at night then go to wall street and mess around with the stock market. I heard that in the eighties alot of the business men were doing cocaine practicaly all the time. Also maybe certain prescription drugs (here comes the doctor shes got some wild wild life) (checking in checkin out) (spending all my money) go to work leave then get high. Just basicaly living in excess and doing cocaine. THe video on youtube reminds me of eighties night clubs where everyone was doing cocaine and things were just crazy and out of sight. Not everything that an exalted artist makes has to be so complicated that its meaning reflects some complicated phylisophical view it could just be straight forward but worded briliantly. |
Thin Lizzy – The Hero and the Madman Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Come on guys this song deserves alot more attention than its getting. Doesnt anyone else think the solo near the end was purely amazing? Every time I hear the solo when Im driving late at night I cant help but speed. |
Primus – Mary the Ice Cube Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I see the humor in the song. Not just the fact that its the song about a man whos heart was broken by an ice cube. But by the nuts who take life lessons from the song and over-analyze it into some deep philosophical statement. Why cant the song just be about an icecube? If it had to make sense then you woudlnt be listening to it. |
Primus – To Defy The Laws Of Tradition Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Nice job on the lyrics but you forgot the: Im just a bill and Im only a bill and Im stiting here on capital hill Ill be a law some day Yeah Ill be a law here we go. |

Metallica – Whiskey in the Jar (Thin Lizzy cover) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This isnt the best cover I've heard. Personally Thin Lizzys is better and the Metallica version is just the same song with a cheesier drum beat with a handful of good fills. It would have been better if they tried to make it their own song. Check out No Quarter by Tool for an idea of what a cover should really be. |
Rage Against the Machine – No Shelter Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I also think it's funny how theyre speaking out against capitalism yet they sold this song to Godzilla. Or maybe it was the other way around? The people from Godzilla wanted to buy the song because it had the word Godzilla in it...and they didnt bother to listen to the rest of the song. Like Born in the USA. |
Rage Against the Machine – Wake Up Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Oh yeah I forgot. It is also unbeliavably likely that all these radicals were taken out by the government seeing as they did it in S. Vietnam in the 60's so they had the 'right' people in control. |
Rage Against the Machine – Wake Up Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Never has a name fit a band more than with Rage. If theres one thing we can thank Bush for is making Rage get back together. Supposedly they got back together because it was clear that since Bush was still in office no one heard their message. WAKE UP!!! |
Feist – 1234 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
It almost reminds me of Polyphonic Spree. Anyone remember them? |
The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Power to Love Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I have Power of Soul (Live at Filmore East) and its pretty much the same thing with some extra lyrics...are they two different songs or one? |
Frank Zappa – Nanook Rubs It Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Maybe this song (Well the first couple songs of Apostrophe are tied together) was just meant to be a piece of imagery that you werent meant to disect and all you were supposed to do was let yourself get lost in its imagery rather than ruin the fun and disect it into deep political statements.... Just sayin |

The Slip – Even Rats Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think that the line "need a little less jackand a little more jill" can possibly be about gay marriage but I think (even though no one else is going to see this as a good idea) that a little less jack means something like a little less jack(shit) so they should stop lying. A stretch yeah but who cares it's just an awesome song. Discovered on Guitar Hero too and had to play it through about a dozen times to get it right. Awesome though. |
Pink Floyd – Yet Another Movie Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This is just one of those songs that give you chills. This reminds me of channel flipping too but more specificaly the part in the The Wall (The movie) where Pink is watching TV "The empty screen the vacant look." It's weird how the Casablanca words fit in so well "Maybe not today maybe not tomorrow but someday for the rest of your life." |
Duncan Sheik – White Limousine Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree with JP although it actually says "How many lives?" at the end. I basically think that the "Bill for seven hours" part is the duration of his presidancy. I don't know where the seven hours came from but I think it means that when all is said and done we were better off than when we started. And that the 'bill' is the aftermath of his presidancy and was it all worth it? |
Primus – Jerry Was a Race Car Driver Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Les Claypool did the Robot Chicken theme song and he says "Its alive!". Also kinda cool in those little Adult Swim ad things they say that this was Primus's best song. Too true. |
Polaris – Hey Sandy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
My god Pete and Pete was the greatest show ever. For the longest time I couldn't remember the intro song but all I rememberd was that it was so awesome. Every episode was great. Like the one where Petes dad finds a car burried at the beach. |
Pink Floyd – Corporal Clegg Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think this song is about an old war vet that's kind of losing his mind. No one can really put up with him including his wife (Mrs Clegg, another drop of gin) and he basically exagerates everything from the war making himself out to be a hero (Won his medals in a dream) And the little kazoo orchestra is just kind of a characeteur of trumpets and military fanfare. |
Pink Floyd – Jugband Blues Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This album is just so different from everything else that Floyd put out after this. (Mostly cause of a different singer) But this album still rocks. |
Tool – Mantra Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I just think its funny that Maynard can squeeze a cat and people will think its the voice of god. Baaaaaaah goes the sheep. |
Steve Miller Band – Take The Money And Run Lyrics | 18 years ago |
To me this song is about to rebels who decide to break free from the system and a corrupt cop is trying to catch them. Its basicaly like the "good guys" are actualy the bad guys and the two robbers are kind of legends that no one can catch...and of course robbing stuff. |
Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Everyone I know does not believe me that when you play certain parts of it backwards theres a hidden message in it. I've done it and I know for a fact that there actualy is clear words in there. Whether this is the real meaning behind it....maybe. I just think this is a song about a woman who gets by on her good looks and takes advantage of others "With a word she can get what she came for" and this attitude is basically earning her a stairway to heaven. Not specificaly to heaven but more or less a path to death. "There's a feeling I get when I look to the west, And my spirit is crying for leaving. In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees" This basicaly means that he sees the smoke as a warning that something bad is coming and he wants to get out of his current situation. or it could be that theres this one person who just sees the best in life and that if others follow her example then they'll see the truth and be on the right path. "And if you listen very hard The tune will come to you at last" |
