The Beach Boys – California Girls Lyrics

No.. I think he's saying california girls are the best. Why couldn't he, "wait to get back in the states
Back to the cutest girls in the world" and then sing the chorus about california girls? He likes 'em best! |

Better Than Ezra – King of New Orleans Lyrics

This is actually a really good song... When it first came out in the 90s way long ago, I didn't like it, it didn't sink in. Then just recently it came up on my playlist, and I can't get enough of it, and I play it over and over. Weird. |

I heard when Christopher Cross wrote this song, he said this song could represent anything, he just randomly chose sailing as the metaphor |

Lazy Town – Cooking by the Book Lyrics

This song is the awesomest evar. I'm glad I get to be the first one to post about it.
Although this song probably doesn't mean anything more than using a cookbook to bake a cake, I'd like to extract some deep meaning from it.
I think it goes with the mantras, "stick to the plan," and "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" where you should just use what works, otherwise everything will go "Craaaaazy" (don't eye-roll that Stephanie does in video) |

R.E.M. – Man On The Moon Lyrics

Yeah, it's true... I'm doing my PhD in Aerospace Engineering, and a lot of it doesn't make sense. I mean, how could they've gotten to the moon? It's so far away! And what happens when I put my thumb over it? Doesn't it disappear? Didn't Tom Hanks do that? |

Guster – Thirty Seconds Silence Lyrics

This is my favourite song, I love this song so much... It really means a lot to me, and the word-imagery just takes me to a different place in my mind.
I think it represents the hardships of maintaining relationships in a 21st century full of technology, where we think we're coming closer together into a collective, but our daily routines, gizmos, and drive to succeed are pushing individuals further apart.
