The White Stripes – Bone Broke Lyrics 16 years ago
Fun fact: If you listen to this song and focus on just the drums, there's a 61% chance that your ears will bleed and you will get dumber.

Seriously, though, I always stick up for Meg because I know that she gives Jack exactly what he needs to rock so fuckin hard, but the drumming on this song is ridiculous.

If you listen to this song and Bob Dylan's "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues", they seem really similar to me. Give it a try. I might be wrong.

No way, man. The lyrics to this song are awesome. I love the way it kind of explodes at the end and then stops so abruptly. Always makes me smile.

Ween – Falling Out Lyrics 17 years ago
"Always thought of you as my big brother
Never knew we couldn't trust each other
Two faces I could see, as you shook my money tree
There's no more "you & me" let it beAlways thought of you as my big brother
Never knew we couldn't trust each other
Two faces I could see, as you shook my money tree
There's no more "you & me"
Let it be"

I've always thought that this verse may be about the relationship between Paul McCartney and John Lennon towards the breaking up of the Beatles. Possibly not, but the "Let it be" part just seems to fit and tie everything together when you think about it.

Bad Company – Bad Company Lyrics 18 years ago
Yeah, for sure. Bad Company doesn't suck at all. I think they're better than Led Zeppelin. IN FACT, I believe that one, count it, ONE Bad Company song is as good as four, you heard right, FOUR Led Zeppelin songs.

Can't Get Enough Of Your Love or Stairway To Heaven? I think the answer to that is obvious...

Thank you. Thank you so much, Bad Company, for your decades of the best Rock 'N' Roll out there.

P.S. - I wept the fist time I heard this song. Honestly, I did. I was with my friend Jimmy and we couldn't stop crying because it was so... amazing.

Bob Dylan – Baby, Let Me Follow You Down Lyrics 18 years ago
Here's the way I was going to post the lyrics, but the moderator wouldn't put them up this way:
____________________________________

-------------------------------------------
Introduction from Bob Dylan’s debut album, “Bob Dylan”, 1962:

I first heard this from - Ric von Schmidt.
He lives in Cambridge.
Ric’s a blues guitar player.
I met him one day in the green pastures of - Harvard University.
-------------------------------------------
Baby, let me follow you down.
Baby, let me follow you down.
Well, I'll do anything in this God almighty world
If you just let me follow you down.

*# I’ll buy you a diamond ring.
Yes, I’ll buy you a wedding gown.
Well, I’d do anything in this God almighty world
If you just let me follow you down. *#

# Baby, can I follow you home?
Baby, can I follow you home?
I’ll do anything in this God almighty world
If you just let me follow you home. #

# I’d do anything for you.
I’d do anything in this world for you.
I’ll do anything in this God almighty world
If you just let me come home with you. #

Can I come home with you?
Baby, can I come home with you?
Yes, I'll do anything in this God almighty world
If you just let me come home with you.

* I’ll buy you a broken twine,
Honey, just for you to climb.
Well, I’ll do anything in this God almighty world
If you just once drive me out of my mind. *

* I’ll buy you a serpent skirt.
I’ll buy you a velvet shirt.
I’ll do anything in this God almighty world
If you just don’t make me hurt. *

Baby, let me follow you down.
Baby, let me follow you down.
Well, I'll do anything in this God almighty world
If you just let me follow you down.

Yes, I'll do anything in this God almighty world
If you just let me follow you down.
-------------------------------------------
(Verses annotated by * show added verses as performed on “The Bootleg Series Vol. 4: Live 1966, The “Royal Albert Hall” Concert”, and verses annotated by # are also added verses as performed with The Band on Martin Scorcese’s documentary of The Band’s farewell concert, “The Last Waltz”.)

I know it's not perfect, but I did my best to do this song justice. I love the original and I love how Dylan has changed it and performed it differently so many times over the years. If anyone has any corrections or changes to make to these lyrics, just make a post. I'm almost positive that they're not 100% correct (as far as when they were played), but the words are all correct. Anywhoo, from me to you. Enjoy.

Bob Dylan – Just Like a Woman Lyrics 18 years ago
Hahaha. Zimmie... Yeah, he's everybody's best friend. Anywhoo, I really love the original version of this song from Blonde On Blonde, but I think that the version from George Harrison's Concert For Bangladesh puts up some serious competition. If you haven't heard it yet, I seriously recommend it. Actually, you can find the video of this song from the concert for free online, that's how I first heard it...

Ripped to shreds? At least you didn't COMPLETELY dismiss it as some 'drug induced rambling' like so many other people do when trying to understand poetry and whatnot. Amen, HibbingismyHolyLand. Actually, I'm listening to that version as I'm typing this. LOVE it! LOVE Dylan!

Bob Dylan – Band of the Hand (It's Hell Time Man!) Lyrics 18 years ago
I've never heard this song before, but (and this is probably one of the only times I've said this about a Dylan song before) the lyrics sound-- how should i say this-- dumb. These lyrics are really amateurish. They seem as though, like, some high school punk band wrote these or something. Nevertheless, Dylan is amazing and since I haven't even heard the song yet, I guess I could be wrong...

Ween – Spinal Meningitis (Got Me Down) Lyrics 18 years ago
The first time I heard this song, I was really creeped out by it, but even though it really creeped me out, the chorus always got stuck in my head. The more I listened to it, the more I liked it. Mizchiff got the meaning, or at least my interpretation of it, but it's a shame how many people misinterpret Ween's songs as being intentionally offensive all the time.

Weezer – We Are All on Drugs Lyrics 18 years ago
toxicdelerium: "i love weezer. im a uk fan, and i think its better to move with the times, rivers now is not rivers then, live with it , get over it, get on with it, its a cool, catchy, power pop punk song, end of."

That really reminds me of Bob Dylan during his transfer from acoustic to electric back in the mid-60's... oh yeah, except for one difference. New Weezer sucks.

By the way, I'm not just some ass who just wants to insult the band, but their first album was so phenomenal. They had so much potential and they totally blew they're chance at becoming one of the few (or maybe only) true great bands of this generation.

Against Me! – How Low? Lyrics 18 years ago
Yeah, I think that you guys hit the nail on the head. It just seems to be about a guy who's got some drinking (and possibly drug) problems who's just really lookin' for a way out, and the only person who supported him (most likely his lover), is leaving him and now he has to face these things alone.

I hate it when people over-analyze songs, but I couldn't help but notice that the song seems to start out with the feeling of purpose and determination, but as the song goes on, the lyrics reflect that all of his confidence is gone and it seems like all hope is lost.

"I don't know
who I can trust.
Thought there was us,
now there is no one."

Great song. I like the slower version from the album best.

Bob Dylan – Don't Think Twice, It's All Right Lyrics 18 years ago

But seriously, I just can't hear this song without it being stuck in my head for the entire day, and I wouldn't even really consider myself an Against Me fan ( I just know a few of their songs from friends of mine who like them). Bob Dylan – Black Crow Blues Lyrics 18 years ago
I like this song. When I first heard it, the thing that made me like it right away was how it was pretty different from Dylan's previous stuff becasue of the piano and everything.

As far as the meaning goes, it just seems to be about a guy who's having a really hard time in a relationship and is just saying how he feels while trying to make things right. It's not perfect, but it's something...

By the way, I don't think it's "Wasted and worn out", I always thought that it was "Weary-eyed and worn out". I might be wrong though...

Weezer – Beverly Hills Lyrics 18 years ago
Alright. Rivers is 40 years old. This song is ridiculous (althought the solo in the middle is pretty catchy). But seriously, with Rivers being as old as he is, it would be like someone's dad writing a song like this. Weezer was amazing at first, and if they would have kept moving forward instead of back, they could be the biggest band of this generation. I saw them live at Summerfest last summer (with the Pixies), and the concert was pretty bad.

Old Weezer rules. Fuck new Weezer.

Bob Dylan – Rainy Day Women #12 & 35 Lyrics 18 years ago
I love it when songs are recorded like this; when it sounds like there's a party going on in the background (Barbara Ann, The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill). It makes it feel more like music and less produced, which is something that you barely hear anymore.

As for the drug reference, I think it's pretty obviously, but I think that the dual meaning of the song represents society in general and how it's just in human nature to kind of pick at someone's flaws (especially someone famous). Everybody must get stoned. That's just my two cents...
