There's also an instrumental song on the EP Tiny Dynamine called "Ribbed and Veined;" don't know if it is meant to have any correlation with this song or not, but it's noteworthy. |

Kathleen Hanna is bisexual. Though, I'm not sure if she ever had a relationship with Tammy Rae Carland, this song may be more about "the revolution" as bruiseviolet said. |

Joy Division – She's Lost Control Lyrics

This song is about epilepsy taking hold of your life, imo. That's why the line "She's lost control" is repeated so many times - she's still a living, breathing person, though she has no control of her body while having an attack.
"But she expressed herself in many different ways until...She lost control again." She's a multi-faceted person, like other individuals, with many different interests/hobbies etc, but since she's epileptic she ends up being defined by her epilepsy. She has to rely on other people for help, "she's clinging to the nearest passer-by," rather than being able to be independent, like she wants to be.
I think Ian Curtis was speaking for himself when he wrote this song, about how he no longer had control of his own life before he committed suicide. |
