To me, this song reminds me of myself, and of my ex boyfriend. Not together, as separate people, lol. I think it's about people who shut others out, and try to deal with everything themselves. "I realize you're afraid but you can't reject the whole world" People try to deal with things on their own, rejecting everyone else, but in the end, they just can't. I love how song have different meanign to different people, different situations. It's one of the great things about music in general. |

I get confused by the bit at the start: "But, oh god, I feel I've been lied to; Lost all faith in the things I have achieved." Though throughout the song she talks about the "lie she created". Seems to me like maybe the lie was made for her, maybe (she was lied to, maybe by her parents or something, I have no idea). And she's just had to live it and she hates it. Or maybe that's just how I interpret the song, because that applies to me and my life and I see it that way. I like the lyrics whatever they mean, to be honest. I dunno, just those first few lines throw me in relation to the rest of the song. I was going to refer to the errors, but read the comments and see you already have ;-) Still, amazing song. I love their early stuff so much more than Fallen, so much more emotional to me I think. Donna x |

The State rocked. A lot. The songs seems rather mixed to me, you have to search the lyrics to find a meaning and I love that. Nickelback possibly the best all round band that I listen to. Can never get bored, especially of their older stuff. "Lately it seems like my dreams have started to die It occured to me on the inside I guess so have I" Absolutely LOVE that lyric! Whole song too of course :) |

I was driving down the dual carriageway the other day and it hit me how this song affects me. It made me quite emotional in an inside kind of way. My mum died when I was eight, this reminds me of her a bit. Really lovely song. Shows Lene has so much more brains than many artists around. |
