The Silver Jews – Tennessee Lyrics | 12 years ago |

Leonard Cohen – Dance Me to the End of Love Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think this song is about knowing that the relationship won't last and not caring, he is saying "dance me to the end of love". He knows it won't last forever. "Dance me through the curtains that our kisses have outworn Raise a tent of shelter now, though every thread is torn". He is saying the kisses have grown old and every shred of their love has been torn, but he still wants to be with her until the end, even though he knows it will come. That's how I interpret it at least. |
Pixies – Winterlong Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Bruce Springsteen – You're Missing Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Elvis Costello – Jack of All Parades Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song is about being with many women or just one, give or take lol But what really intersts me are the lines that seem to be referring to Jack the Ripper: "It's just a part of the Murdering Game 'Cos down in the fleshpots" and "the Crimes of Paris" any thoughts?? |
Elvis Costello – Beyond Belief Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Bone Orchard refers to a graveyard, correct?? I don't know about this song though, I don't think it has a direct meaning, but is just more about his thoughts on life........I really have no idea about the song as a whole though |
Modest Mouse – Workin' on Leavin' the Livin' Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I really hope Isaac Brock got the idea of "In heaven everything is fine" from Pixies because I just saw the scene from Eraserhead where the Radiator Lady in question sings the line and it creeped me out to no end..... I think of myself as somewhat of an openminded underground culture appreciating art loving indivudal but I don't think I ever want to se Eraserhead =( I think that movie would ruin my life, but uhh Modest Mouse is what lead me down this road in the first place.....hmmmmmm Ironic? |
Neil Young – Ambulance Blues Lyrics | 18 years ago |
and "you're all just pissin in the wind" is definitely said by the old man who's seen it all and knows that no matter how much they preach about pace it's never gonna change anything, at least that is the song in a nutshell for me |
Neil Young – Ambulance Blues Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think this song is just about Neil reflecting on the end of the hippy era |
