Iron Maiden – Tailgunner Lyrics

In this song apparently Bruce was purposely imitating Dianno because of the whole back to basics approach to the whole album. |

Great song. Sounds quite a lot like Thin Lizzy's Chinatown. If you like these "classic rock revival" bands check out The Answer at www.theanswer.ie |

"I read in an interview with Corey Taylor in Guitar World Magazine, that the Meaning of this song is about Alexander the Great"
That's bullshit. What does Slipknot know anyway? |

My favourite Anthrax song. Awesome melodies, and it's pretty obvious about what its about. |

"Also, I'm not quite sad enough to memorise the dates of every live Maiden event"
You don't need to. All you needed to know was that ATSS is from 1992, and Live After Death is from 1985. Duh. |

Jethro Tull – Locomotive Breath Lyrics

Great song, but the first version of this I heard was the cover by W.A.S.P, and not the original Jethro Tull version. To me, both versions are amazing. |

Diamond Head – Helpless Lyrics

Decent song from their first album...
Has anybody noticed that there's a riff in this song that sounds almost exactly like the one from Riverboat Song by Ocean Colour Scene? |

Judas Priest – Sinner Lyrics

Whats that thing Rob Halford whispers in the chorus? It sounds something like, "desification", but I'm really not sure. |

Anthrax – Gung-Ho Lyrics

Excellent song, but it is proof that Anthrax never really took themselves seriously. The march bit towards the end just makes me laugh! |

"How many different hard rock songs open up with church bells?"
Lol, good point - there are quite a few. There's this one, Hell's Bells by AC/DC, Hallowed Be Thy Name by Iron Maiden, and there was another one I can't remember at the moment... |

Metallica – Whiskey in the Jar (Thin Lizzy cover) Lyrics
| 18 years ago

This cover isn't bad, but why do so many people think the Metallica version is better than the Thin Lizzy one? Sure, they made it heavier and everything, but of course its going to be heavier - Thin Lizzy recorded theirs in the early 70's FFS. Also, Metallica's lacks the emotion that Thin Lizzy had in theirs, in my opinion.
Also, why have people been saying Metallica did the original? How fucked up is that? It's on a covers album! Thin Lizzy didn't even do the original either. |

Black Sabbath – Dirty Women Lyrics

I particularly like the riff that comes up at around 3:15 - it has the same DDCD chord progression at the beginning, but as soon as it gets into the FGF etc part it just sounds so brutal and evil. Excellent song. |

No comments yet?! How can you fail to ignore this song!
Amazing vocals by Halford. This song has to be one of his best performances. |

Beautiful song. My 2nd fave off Defenders Of The Faith next to The Sentinel.
I like the distant scream behind the chorus - it's subtle but quite effective. |

Iron Maiden – The Prophecy Lyrics

I like the way there is a quiet intro, then all of a sudden, it becomes heavier and faster. Fits perfectly with the subject of the song. Very menacing song. |

WOAH! Jesus! Ted is fucking mental in this song!
Oh, and congrats on the person who actually made out the lyrics. |

"Gives Diamonds & Rust some competition for the best Priest ballad ever."
Diamonds and Rust is awesome, but you can't really call it Priest cos its a Joan Baez cover. I'd say Priest's best ballad is Dreamer Deceiver. |

The solos are amazing! I love the bit where KK and Glenn are doing the lead guitar harmony bit, kinda towards the end of the solo. Just gives me a hell of a chill. |

About the comment above me, Judas Priest are from Birmingham not Sheffield, so that basically screws up all of your link with steel, which is pretty much the rest of what you wrote. |
