Am I the only person who thinks this song means the exact opposite? For some reason, it comes off as ridiculously sarcastic to me. It's like the singer is rather saying that the person ISN'T special, but rather simply acts like it or something. |

Personally, I hate politically charged songs. If I wanted to hear someone's political views, I would tune into CNN or Fox. Especially since it seems that these days all the artists are just as liberal and one-sided as the New York Times. But that's an argument in its self.
What I'm trying to say is this: If I say that to ME, the song is about a relationship, it is just as much my right to make that decision and tha band has a right to decide what the song means to THEM. I'm not quite sure who it was that started this idea that everyone has to take the song for exactly what the artists intended it to be, but that's total bullcrap.
Cue "omg dey alredy sayd dat it wuz 4 katreena u cunservtive bush luvr!!11!" from all the narrow-minded fools. |

Dead Poetic A LOT of metaphores wich i dont get.Proboly becuase its about the religeon, and i dont know much about the religeon.
i think the songs is about peace and a war is going on(in the song) "the monster will soon come back" = The opponents.

To me, this song is just talking about how he's noticed how he seems to be taking a turn away from his original goals and dreams. He wants to "get to where he's going", that is, the point in his life he;s been waiting for, but he's not sure when he'll accomplish it or if he'll even fully appreciate it when he has. |

It's quite obvious from the lyrics that this is about someone who has screwed over the life of him. Aside from that however, from the song title (Play God) I think that it may more specifically have to do with some sort of figure that either tried to control his life in a damaging way or possibly manipulated others around him. |

Eh. I took this in a less literal sense. My girl friend used to have an abusive step-father type figure, and well, yea. I hate his guts without even having met him, just by the stories she's told me. He never actually sexually assaulted her, but like I said, I take rape in a less literals sense. In a way, he took her innocense, so it reminds me of all that. |
