Garbage – #1 Crush Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I guess it's true, it can be taken from devotion to a person right through to beyond-obsessive. It always makes me think of someone actually love so much that they kill themselves and their beloved, (but maybe I just watch too much TV!) I don't know, I guess it's written to be more of a metaphorical death but I always have this image in my mind. I think it's all the "I will die/kill for you stuff" mixed in with the "I will never be ignored." |
Vienna Teng – Homecoming (Walter's Song) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Ah, so pretty! I think that it's not for Walter, it's written through his perspective. I read that he was a truck driver she invented. I love how Vienna creates people and tells us about their stories through her lyrics. A website said that she mentioned that she made a connection between Walter and Carrie after writing [from 'Shasta (Carrie's Song)'] and that this guy was her old boyfriend. The little girl of the song 'Anna Rose' is possibly their daughter, the one Carrie didn't abort. I think that Vienna is amazingly intelligent! |
Stacie Orrico – I'm Not Missing You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree. First, it does make you want to sing along! Second, it IS upbeat, which is sort of weird, because she's saying how she got hurt and everything. But it's nice, like she's moved on and she doesn't care anymore. Or maybe like wants to tell herself she doesn't care anymore? Either way, I really like this song. It's been stuck in my head for ages, and I can think back to when I thought I'd never go on without this guy, and now I know I'm better off and not missing him and I can sing it along with Stacie :D I just think that it's sad that she's saying "I guess love will be nice for someone else's life," like it's something that she's pretty much given up on for good. |
Flyleaf – Broken Wings Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Wow, this song really is amazing. I never really thought of it being about God when I first heard it, but I can imagine how it can be interpreted that way. I suppose it's a personal opinion, really. I wonder what the intention was when it was written though... hmmmm. To me, I was thinking of the best friend thing. Like your closest friend who you love and expected to stay forever having to leave. And you want to tell them exactly how you feel before you leave and just kind of... stay in your last moment forever. And then you just pray that you'll always be friends and they'll always remember you. For the 1000 broken hearts & wings I was thinking of like how broken her heart is to be seperated but how she is still kind of....getting on with life and...continuing to fly, even if her wings are broken. Even though they're apart, he's still underneath, supporting, giving strength to carry on. But that's just me, I doubt that makes any sense lol. |
Olive – Smile Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Hah. I destroy everything *will be ten comments here by the time I'm done* Oh well, I love it. It deserves lots. But for teh record, I meant "keeping her pride" not "keeping her smile"..... |
Olive – Smile Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I love this song. It's so sad, even though it's called Smile. Hah. This really tugs on my heart-strings. It's like.. she's asking him to do anything but smile. Something's not right, so she's keeping her smile and leaving for some reason because she believes there's nothing left. But if she only sees him smile, then she knows she won't be able to leave anymore, he'll "steal away her soul" and she'll realise she's actually leaving. Just my take, when you put it into a 'relationship' point of view.. or my situation at that. Lol. |

Hayley Westenra – What You Never Know (Won't Hurt You) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Lovely! Simple, I guess, but I'm going to comment anyway. It's like an inward debate (hence the "my heart's torn in two.") She's falling in love with someone, but is trying to stay distanced, probably because of previous experiences of being hurt. It's easier not to try, since if she doesn't tell him how she feels, she'll never get hurt. But then she's really falling for him. At the end, I guess she decides to tell him - "what you never know - unless you try." I love this. Means a lot to me. It's like when you like someone and you want to tell them but you're too scared about getting rejected. I guess everyone's felt that way. |
The Phantom Of The Opera – All I Ask of You Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Oleta Adams – Get Here Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Ahh no comments.. I love this song, it's really simple in it's meaning I guess - not caring how someone gets to you, just wants themthere! i can identify.. suppose we all can! I just think this song is really pretty and nice :) |
Nelly Furtado – Fotografia F/ Juanes Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Ted Leo and the Pharmacists – Me and Mia Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"But don't forget what it really means to hunger strike, When you don't really need to Some are dying for the cause, but that don't make it yours." This makes me kind of think of like people in lesser econonmically developed countries who are starving.. i mean maybe the "hunger strike" part makes it more political because i guess they're not striking so to say, but that's just what i thought of at first read, just because it's kind of like an in-your-face, 'well some are dying of starvation so why are you when you have the chance not to?' kind of thing |
Switchfoot – Only Hope Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Oh, for the record, the lyrics on the inside of the CD case say "I give You my apathy," which makes sense because he is wanting to be only God's and to take away the lack of emotion and committment that he's had in his relationship with God. |

Amazing song. Utterly amazing. |
Maria Mena – Just a Little Bit Lyrics | 18 years ago |
All I can think is EATING DISORDER. "Just a little bit pretty Just a little more aware Just a little bit thinner And maybe I'd get there" Obvious. Association of thinness with happiness. "clearly, clearly I remember Hiking up my skirt And asking for your time" - Asking for help? "Clearly, clearly I remember Nervous if ever confronted And questioning myself" - Hiding it. "Oh perhaps, perhaps if I got better Perhaps if I challenged myself" - Getting better (as in getting rid of it) vs. getting better at the eating disorder "Clearly, clearly I remember Pulling up my shirt And staring blank ahead" - Studying your body in the mirror. "Clearly, clearly I remember Days of useless crying And almost feeling dead" - The way it drains the life from you, physically and mentally. "Oh perhaps, perhaps if I was smaller Perhaps I could control myself.." Again, smaller/thinner associated with happiness. Links to relationships and love could also be a correct interpretation, this is just how I read it. |
