Primus – Spegetti Western Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I was wondering if anyone knew that there was actually a movie called "Noodle Western" which is a comedy about making the perfect noodle...and there's a cowboy in it. Any thinking of it being related to that some freaky way? |
Streetlight Manifesto – Somewhere in the Between Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I would like to respond to confluence and his/her idea of the greek letters. That actually symbolizes the beginning and then end, since alpha is the first letter of the alphabet and omega the last. You may sometimes here such a phrase when refering to God because he's the "Alpha and Omega" the begnning and the end, everything. |
Streetlight Manifesto – 1234 1234 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
has anyone figured out the numbers 1234 |
Streetlight Manifesto – The Receiving End of it All Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think this song is about leaving someone in a crappy relationship. You want to help them and do the best that you can but sometimes it's just impossible to salvage anything anymore. She said it hurts too much I said it will never hurt enough No one will ever see these cuts No one will ever call this bluff In this part I think it's like a conversation: She says "It hurts too much" as in life is too painful and thus she wants to end it. But he responds "It will never hurt enough" as in in life there is nothing soo emotinally scarring that you should take your life, that there is never a reason for suicide. Then she trys to say that she will simply cover it up and no one will ever "Call her bluff" as in see under the mask that she is making, pretending she is happy all of the time. "Yeah, we used to be in love (my love!), but now we're just in like And we broke all our promises and baby that ain't right Because you don't know what it's like to lose it all Take it back, take it back because you don't know what it's like to be on the receiving end of it all No! no! You were not on the receiving end of it all You beg and plead, but no one here can save you Why would they try when they can't quite save themselves?" This part just kind of came to me because I've been in this sort of relationship before. This is another kind of conversation part: He says that they use to be in love but when they broke up, they broke all of their promises to each other and he feels bad for that. Then he challenges her saying that she has never felt real pain and sorrow, saying again that she shouldn't be thinking of killing herself. So yeah, some parts are fuzzy but I think thats what it's about really. |
Streetlight Manifesto – The Blonde Lead the Blind Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I personally think that this song is about becoming Atheist and in doing so that it is his responsiblity to take the blame for all of his sins, that even though there is no God in his point of view that he should still live life as a good person. "All the things you missed when you were dismissed Because learning always ended at three And time after time, you pass along liability And all the things you say, they only give you away Because you're on the same level that you were that day" This part talks about how we are basically set up at the age of 3 for what the rest of our lives are going to be like. If your told that there is a God when your young and that if you don't believe in him then your going to hell, your most likely going to believe that for the rest of your life, and if you don't really question your faith then your pretty much just the same as a little kid. "Soon everyone will see, and everyone will know That the things we hid were irrelevant and it's all just part of the show And the blemishes and scars that made us who we are We're told to cover up, but we've taken enough And we're not going to stop until it's taken apart." Basically, don't cover up all your horrible experiences in hopes that people will accept you because they are really in the past and the past is the past. "Oh! Friend! You look too deep at the cover of the magazine But the words inside they come across deprived And they force feed shit, but you still subscribe And you watch, but you don't see You touch, but you don't feel And you'll rue the day they'll try to take it away But they know you'll never fight it if they keep it the same" So basically don't believe everything you hear, your should really question and find your own answers instead of allowing others to decide for you, and we get use to this and the day that they stop then we get lost. (Is this kinda reffering to the bible? Seems like it's a metaphor of it...or it could really be talking about a magazine. Just my opinion) |
John Butler Trio – Caroline Lyrics | 17 years ago |
You can thank Shannon Birchall for that string section. And I would have to agree, the life of a girl that was molested by her father (Her papa loved her so much you could see, Loved her too much if you know what I mean) and soon moved out and lived a tough life. Eventually she tryed to seperate herself from the world and commited suicide. |
Gimp – One Tin Soldier (Original Caste cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I always kind of laugh when I listen to this song (kind of easier to understand when actually reading the lyrics). And yes, the moral is don't resort to violence for such stupid reasons and having real justification for your actions. |
Gimp – Humming On Tables Lyrics | 17 years ago |
well I pretty much agree with the other guy and replace the ? with "some" |
Gimp – Keep It To Yourself Lyrics | 17 years ago |
awesome song. I think this song is about being tired of people complaining but never doing anything and you just want them to shut the hell up. |
Streetlight Manifesto – On & On & On Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I never really fully understood the beginning, I was kind of surprised when I actually read it and found out it was about gang wars. Part of the song is about getting over the bad things and being able to get away and the other part is about getting over a newly lost love and to keep moving on. |
Streetlight Manifesto – Giving Up, Giving In Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Personally I always thought it said "I got no gas" instead of "I got no cash". Well anyways, obviously a song about not caring what others think, he's young and he can do whatever he wants even though he's got problems. People may not understand but he does what he wants. |
Streetlight Manifesto – Sick And Sad Lyrics | 17 years ago |
About a guy that goes to find a girl that he likes but she isn't there but he keeps trying and trying. He is in love with the girl and they were very much alike and he's not going to give up until she finds her because he wants the rain to end (as in he doesn't want to die) and he wants to stand and never give up. |
Streetlight Manifesto – Supernothing Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Maybe this song sort of ties in with Sick and Sad? "Went to the corner of second and main and there was someone there who mentioned that they hoped that it would rain forever, forever, so they could drown in peace." Either they tie together or to Tomas the rain has a real symbolic meaning. As to the song it self, maybe he's always talking about standing alone in the rain as in parting with the girl in the song. He would always talk about it but she never really thought he would, but he finally does and doesn't care that his life isn't going anywhere. Also the part where it says "He wont forget what wasn't said" there were things that he didn't want to mention to her. |
Streetlight Manifesto – Walking Away Lyrics | 17 years ago |
People...quit comparing Streetlight Manifesto and Catch 22, just get to the lyrics...thats what the page is about. Well anyways, I would have to agree with imhoterror. It is about someone that everything was perfect with their relationship but then things just started drifting apart. Something I can relate to, its got heart. Sad but cheery song. |
Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution – They Provide The Paint... Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I would have to say that the whole media controlling our thoughts is part of the song is part of the song. But another thing about it really is living for yourself and not dying for a cause you don't believe in or care about and dying for no less than the best of life as is said. |
The Aquabats – Pizza Day Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this song is basically about two things, those misguided teenage years that you either love or hate and how everything was great and the easiest things could make you happy such as pizza day. but as you get older you have to provide for yourself and those childhood joys fade. It's got a sort of innocence to it. At my school you can order pizza any day you want but your a lottery winner if you get a good one since they vary soo much. One person can get a perfectly normal pizza and the person behind them would be all burnt and the next person would get twice as much pepperoni lol |
Barenaked Ladies – In The Car Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Well Barenaked Ladies are exactly known for freaky songs and more for more humorous upbeat tunes along with a good mixture of serious-ness at the same time. I think this song is about two people who were having more of a first experience sort of thing, not taking anything really all that serious and the part that says "We were never making love" may rather refer to the actual meaning of love, basically saying it was never about emotions but lust. |
Barenaked Ladies – I'll Be That Girl Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I guess I could go for the idea of it being about autoerotic asphyxiation but that doesn't explain the entire song. I think in a way it is more of a song about a guy saying that if he was that girl he would kill himself/herself which seems like the chorus is hinting at (If I were a field, you would be in clover/If I were the sun, you would be in shadow/If I had a gun, there'd be no tomorrow) and the because the music has such an upbeat feel to it, it just gives it such a creepy sort of feeling like how in a horror movie the killer starts whistling a kids song like ring around the rosey or a tune from the carnival. But well, who really knows. |
Barenaked Ladies – Light Up My Room Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I would have to agree with Lightupmyroom's idea of what this song is about. It really gives you a feeling like everything is alright, like even though life is shit it is all about how you look at it. Example: "A field full of tires that is always on fire, To light my way home". This song is just simply amazing. This is my favorite song in the entire universe. I always think about the time when I was on vacation in california. It was night and I could see the shadows of rolling hills filled with a golden field that seemed to go on forever under the smiling full moon. I just imagine laying out there with the girl I love looking at the stars as this song plays in the background of my mind. Also, one time I was pissed off so bad that I punched a hole in the wall and I tried to burn off energy by jumping up and down, screaming, taking a cold shower, nothing would work till I listened to this song and the anger just melted away.... |
New Found Glory – Ghostbusters Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I loved the original version of this song, and this one is even better. The guitar parts just add a new level to the entire thing. But for some reason I just can't seem to find the cd it's off of. Does anybody know? |
New Found Glory – Never Ending Story Theme Song Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song is awesome beyond belief. I just downloaded it maybe an hour ago and I simply cannot stop listening to it. They say yeah a few too many times for my liking but I guess it adds to the feel of it. I would kill to see new found glory live and have them play this song. It just has the perfect energy and I find myself throwing my fist high up into the air at the part where they say "GO!!!" The movie is a masterpiece (or at least thats how i remember it when I was 10...) Put simply....this song fucking rocks! |
