When I went To Damiens concert last week Cold water was the last song he played. Befor he did the song he told a little story befor (as he does alot in concert) The way he explained this song is that you take a bath and then you go under the water and you hold your breath for a really long time and when you feel yoursell wanting to come up for air you push your head even deeper into the water and pretend someone is holding you down. And that song is in the moment that you let yourself come up for air. That moment that you are so low but you allow yorself to live. I hope I made sense. it was amasing the way he said it. then he played the song and it went into Sleep don't weep and then to Hallelujah! |

This is one of Damien's best songs in my opinion. I saw him do this live without Lisa and it was amazing, though I do love it with Lisa because there voices fit so perfectly. To me this song is about someone who falls in love while they are still with someone else. It is hard for them because they no longer love the person they are with but fell guilt for falling for someone new. |

This song was originally titled I Remember December. He (Damien) said that before he went solo he was in a band and they did not really like the acoustic stuff he came up with. So this song started out as just a light soft song like in the begining. So he changed it to suit the band better, so it was the harder second part. But he did not love the way it was played with the full band so he stopped playing the song for a while. Then when he was no longer with the band and it was just him playing he picked up the song again and played it like it is now. Oh and this song is also about the "blower's daughter". |

I would be amazed to learn that this song is not about that movie. I think that it is intresting that on half of this album they mention air or breathing. Like it is an undercurrent to it all. It seems to me that this album is about them being stuck somewhare they do not realy want to be and all they want is to be free to breath. But that is just me, I could be looking at it all to much.
