wow, im incredible sick of people saying "im a really big joy division fan... but he was epileptic? i never knew tht"
anyway, before i start ranting ill get to the point..
i'd say this is one of joy divisions more depressing songs.. i mean, "I'm ashamed of the things I've been put through, I'm ashamed of the person I am"
but, i have no idea why he is so ashamed. i think this is song that cant be interpreted by anyone except the people who knew him. |

um.. people keep saying ian curtis was heavily on drugs, like heroin, which is what caused him to commit suicide.
well, ive read the biography by deborah curtis, and the only drugs he was on was his epilepsy medicine, and that was what was making him depressed.
ANYWAY great song. meaning is obvious and has been said by everyone else so i wont repeat it. |

well... ive been reading all the explanations here and they all make sense...
but personally ive always thought this about a guy who likes a girl, but the girl dosn't like him. she keeps falling in love with other ppl while he just watches...
