The Beatles – Good Day Sunshine Lyrics 16 years ago
I also recall someone saying it was about lsd. There was an acid called Orange Sunshine. See Calpton and Sunshine of Your Love or Donovan Sunshine Superman. I know many hate to think...but...it just may be Acid, though I recall at one point saying he didn't take alot of Acid.

The Beatles – Junk Lyrics 16 years ago
A beautiful melody that I think Paul just never got around to defining lyrically. In interviews Paul often spoke of coming up with melodies and just putting any words that fit to the tune and then later working out the actual lyrtics. It always felt sad to me.

The Beatles – I'm Looking Through You Lyrics 16 years ago
A very insightful song about the loss of love, and how someone who once was so close to you is now so wrong for you..

The Beatles – Girl Lyrics 16 years ago
It was tit tit tit. george talked about them putting it in and nobody caught it. The "inhaling" sound is John taking a breath to sing "Girl, Girl". The producers heard it, turned the treble up and put it back in thinking it was a cool sound. They were smoking alot of pot then, but I think the inhaling weed reference is abit of a stretch.

The Beatles – Here, There and Everywhere Lyrics 16 years ago
John did say it was his favorite Paul song. Just an excellent love song. Right up there with "Lovely Linda".

The Beatles – Good Morning Good Morning Lyrics 16 years ago
Exactly Bobo. Kelloggs had a commercial and John lifted part of it for this song. He spoke of it in several interviews.

The Beatles – Blackbird Lyrics 16 years ago
It is about the plight of African American women. In the 60's blacks were fighting for equality and women's lib was non-existent. So black women had NO voice.

The Beatles – Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) Lyrics 16 years ago
John had an affair and wrote this song, but used these themes to avoid letting Cyn know.

The Beatles – Day Tripper Lyrics 16 years ago
A "DAy Tripper' was a peson who hung with the cool folks and did the drugs, but on Monday morning took off the cool clothes and put back on the suit and tie and went back to the 9-5 world. Not a cool dude at all. It was a scornful song.

The Beatles – Dear Prudence Lyrics 16 years ago
Lennon wrote it for Mia Farrows sister Prudence. There was supposedly an "incident" between the Maharishi and her-a not so holy- amorously attempted encounter. Prudence withdrew. When john fist wrote it it was "Maharishi what have you done you made a fool of everyone." John said he "copped out "by not keeping the original words. he was disenchanted with this man.

The Beatles – I Am the Walrus Lyrics 16 years ago
The very end the words are: Smoke Pot Smoke Pot Everbody Smoke Pot. Then entwined into that is Everybody's F**ed up, Everybodys F**ed up. Everybodys F**d up.

The Beatles – I Me Mine Lyrics 16 years ago

the SON of a woman and a man who lived in strife

Exactly right Regina. It is a positive song encouraging a connection between us all-old and young. Across generations...TEACH!!! Just a beautiful song. Now I thought the lyric was actually.."teach your children well, their fathers HEALTH will slowly go by. Not sure.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young – Suite: Judy Blue Eyes Lyrics 16 years ago
Isn't this just a great song? The Judy is Judy Collins, who dated Stills for a time. I love the Spanish part. Thanx sooo much for the translation.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young – Eight Miles High Lyrics 16 years ago
Actually a Byrds song. David Crosby was in the Byrds before CSNY. I read that the song came about as a result of the band (Byrds) getting to ride in one of the first Lear jets and that it "tripped them out" man.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young – Wooden Ships Lyrics 16 years ago
I think it is at least partially about differences between us and yet that we aren't all that different at all. The "I can see by your coat.." I think is about soldiers, but I doubt Vietnam." I think they were singing about getting away from the "normal" world and to an ideal place-something like Walden II. Just my 2 cents. PS Love this song.

The part about the first stanza being taken from a church sign is VERY COOL. Ya gotta love that stuff..
