Red Hot Chili Peppers – Wet Sand Lyrics 14 years ago
Unfortunately, I'm buying the whole bibley interpretation. Just another reminded of how much cooler they all were fucked up on heroin.

Tool – Hooker with a Penis Lyrics 14 years ago
I think this song is about a certain conflict, a duality in MJK's mind. On one hand, he's a strong defender of a musician's right not only to make music as he or she sees fit, but also to sell it and profit from it. He's said so himself in at least one interview, strongly, and the lyrics of this song certainly imply it. So he's angry with this kid for not respecting that right of the artist. On the other hand, it sounds like he is indeed angry with that part of himself and the system. The lyrics also seem to form an indictment of the music industry itself, and the hell musicians go through to reach success, and how little that translates into respect for themselves or their art. He also seems, at least in part, to despise the pressures financial gain put on art. So I think it combines his opposite opinions on a singular issue.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – If You Have to Ask Lyrics 15 years ago
"If you have to ask, you'll never know" is a quote from Louis Armstrong when asked what jazz was. I'm not entirely sure what that has to do with the song, but presumably something.

Broken Social Scene – Lover's Spit Lyrics 15 years ago
I'd say it's a bit of both. On one hand he sounds sick of all the stupid things people call love, and on the other hand it sounds like there's such a tie to the silly pseudo-romantic.

Broken Social Scene – Stars and Sons Lyrics 15 years ago
Their bassist is great. Personally though, I don't like the clapping.

As for the meaning of the song? This is going to sound crazy, but I'm going out on a limb. Beauty in the bullshit, or bullshit in the beauty? I don't know, could be, maybe not.

It's about sex being fun. Pretty simple. If you miss the "pink" reference, you're retarded.

Red Hot Chili Peppers – I Could Have Lied Lyrics 15 years ago
Blah, I wish I didn't know what this song means as well as I do. If it's what I think it is, and it certainly sounds like it, he really loved this girl but she didn't want it and she left. The second solo is amazing, this band has a gift for having everyone say the same thing musically, the second solo is one of the best musical expressions of emotion I've personally heard and it tickles my tear glands.

Stroke 9 – Latest Disaster Lyrics 15 years ago
I think it's about having a girlfriend (or a boyfriend, but in this case not) that you care a lot about, but who doesn't realize it. You try to do what they want, but they don't notice or care.

Marilyn Manson – Mechanical Animals Lyrics 15 years ago
I remember reading an interview with him. He said something about the whole album being about how people are just becoming reactive, like animals, about how we're just following what we see. But at the same time, we're completely mechanical, just doing what we're supposed to, not really feeling it at all.

I think this song is a little ironic, because while the media sees him as completely without emotion, it's pretty obvious that this song is full of the stuff. It seems to me like there's a lot of loneliness here, it's an incredibly sad song. It sounds like he feels very alone, like he's the only one that can feel anything, that he's just standing and watching all of these mechanical animals.

Danny Michel – Toledo Lyrics 15 years ago
"But not here from this hotel lobby phone"

It sounds like he's waiting for someone. He's in this place, and even though it's a great place to be, he can't enjoy it because he's depending on this person to come for him, but she won't, so he's leaving.
