The Mission – Wake (RSV) Lyrics 12 years ago
Blue Man is right, but This Corrosion came first, attacking The Mission (for touring as The Sisterhood and for playing songs originally intended to be Sisters songs), to which Wake is a rebuttal.
Hussey even alludes to This Corrosion in the lines "Heartless wordplay and dreams of revenge", commenting on the wordplay throughout This Corrosion's lyrics, as well as the spiteful nature of the song. Hussey then begins the tyrade on Eldritch, citing his cocaine use ("living on the razor's edge". Read the lyrics to find out what the Vision Thing is.), but uses the chorus to note the absurdity of their quarrel before essentially finding a few different ways to say that Andy is a pretty admirable guy in some respects (Hell, he'd have to admire him to call his band The Sisterhood, wouldn't he?), he's basically too much of an egomaniacal dick to have anybody like him as a person. He has no friends; they died laughing at him. Wayne'd feel sorry for the guy if he weren't hurt by him. It's a shame Andrew is such a jerk, and Wayne sounds like he really still cares about him a bit. Andrew having some of his own medicine is the song referencing itself in response to This Corrosion, but since Eldritch thinks he's God, he may as well have God's Own Medicine. Death cures all ailments.

Dead Kennedys – Too Drunk to Fuck Lyrics 13 years ago
Nardo, a retainer is a metal/plastic device that people wear in their mouths to straighten their teeth. It's like braces, but removable. Obviously, recieving a blowjob from someone wearing such a device would not be very fun.

Numerological stuff like that is cool; I wish I didn't hate math.

Danzig – Killer Wolf Lyrics 13 years ago
Definitely sex-related, methinks. Also, I've noticed that in all of his bands, Danzig writes a lot about being a wolf or part wolf*. I think it's an interesting theme of his, but is there something bigger than that?
(Notable Misfits ones being Wolfsblood and Demonomania what with its "my father was a wolf, my mother was a whore" business.)

White Zombie – I Am Legend Lyrics 13 years ago
The guitar part at the beginning is beautiful. It evokes such emotion. I really think that that quiet instrumental bit is the best part of the song. It gets across the whole "alone/angst/insane" feel.

White Zombie – Real Solution #9 Lyrics 13 years ago
Just to add something obvious but as of yet unmentioned, the title "Real Solution #9" is a play on the Beatles song "Revolution #9" which I believe (not 100%) is from The White Album, the same album that Manson got many ideas and theories (Helter Skelter, anyone?) from.

White Zombie – Thunder Kiss '65 Lyrics 13 years ago
The "Pussycat" parts are inspired by the classic blaxploitation film, "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!", from which most (if not all) of the samples in this song have been taken.

Rob Zombie – Brick House 2003 Lyrics 13 years ago
If it weren't for the inclusion of Trina, this song might have been almost tolerable. I love Rob Zombie, but this just kind of made me sigh and thing "you can do better, Bobby."

Rob Zombie – Iron Head Lyrics 13 years ago
In addition to the aforementioned aspects, I think the title is a hybrid of Ozzy's "Iron Man" and Zombie's "Electric Head" theme that carried on throughout Astro-Creep: 2000.

Rob Zombie – Dragula Lyrics 13 years ago
Littlegothdoll makes me sad. "I'm offended. No, I'm not, but I am. YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND! I'm just so FREAKY!" Jesus. I'm sick of Wiccans getting all huffy about "the burning times" relating it to the holocaust. The vast majority of the people burned weren't even witches or wiccans or wytches or whatever spooky-hippie name you want to be called. Wicca's not part of your heritage, it's a teenage phase. I respect it when the people involved are respectable. Oh, and by calling yourself "goth" you automatically aren't. Pretentious snooty goth rule number one.

Oingo Boingo – Mary Lyrics 13 years ago
Ahh, my friend and I have had a few conversations about this one, and he had an interesting thought:
he reasoned that the "mountain that she must avoid" was pregnancy, a mountain being like a pregnant woman's bulging stomach and she "grew so much inside" quite literally. And she began to appreciate it and like it, as mother's instinct kicked in, but her family shuns her for having a baby out of wedlock, perhaps as a result of being a prostitute. The part that I have troubles with is the whole stigmata/mind-reading bit. Perhaps something to do with all of Jesus' best friends being hookers.

Oingo Boingo – Weird Science Lyrics 13 years ago
I think this song was just written for the movie, and while it's not an awful song, it is by no means an example of Boingo's best. People just seem to know this one most because of its inclusion in a good movie. Danny apparently hated this song; in a radio interview before the farewell concert, the DJ jokingly asks if they'll be playing "Weird Science" at the concert, and Danny sort of shamefully smirks and says "Shut up."

Oingo Boingo – Insanity Lyrics 13 years ago
Not much I can say here that hasn't already been covered. I always thought the alcoholic bastard was a priest, but JofaGuht seems to have it right. Also, has anybody seen the video to this? It's an easter egg on the Farewell DVD and holy crap is it ever amazing. Very dark, very Burtonesque. Stop-motion monkeys and vintage dolls and skeletons and puppets and Danny sitting at a desk wearing eyeshadow and screaming and shaking around. Perhaps the best example anyone could come up with to call Oingo Boingo "goth".

Oingo Boingo – Helpless Lyrics 13 years ago
I think it's sort of the opposite of "Ain't This the Life?" which was in Urgh! A Music War! before Boingo had any albums, sort of like their first released song, whereas "Helpless" was included at the end of their last album (only on casette), and was sort of their "last released song".
It's just about a guy with an awful life and how his additude isn't making anything better. He thinks he's the greatest person on the face of the earth and deserves so much more, and everything he does, including matrocide, is excusable because of his awful life.

Siouxsie and the Banshees – Carcass Lyrics 13 years ago
A carcass is a dead body.
Siouxsie said in an interview way back that the song was a weird little story about a butcher's assistant who can't get girls, so he falls in love with a big slab of meat hanging in the backroom, and he wants to be more like the thing he loves, so he chops off his arms and legs.
Yes, Siouxsie is friggin' awesome, kids.

The Aquabats – Pinch And Roll Lyrics 13 years ago
*sigh* Am I really going to have to be the first one to say this? It's about scratching one's testicles, and how you can't really SCRATCH them, but you sort of pinch some scrotum and roll it around between your thumb and fingers. Yep. It's a really funny song, and I had to explain to a girl once why it was so funny.
