yep. the radio station was in washington dc. but earlier that day (or the day before maybe) eddie met the bee girl, and "was concerned for her" and so wrote these lyrics. then he sang them over the song he and jeff threw together for the radio show. Its all in the liner notes of lost dogs |

on slovenia 2000 bootleg he tells the crowd to listen to the words from the perspective of someone graduating from college, so i think its about a young yuppie who has the world at his feet & gets a bit of cash - and then forgets what he wanted from life in the 1st place..."a man we'll soon forget" |

and he goes on to say.."i think its a song about one is search of their own true selves, and leaving everything (the good & the bad) in order to become the person they dream of being", and finishes up by saying that the guy in the song is getting out of his "small town"... did i use enough "inverted commas"??? |

Pearl Jam – Helphelp Lyrics

he was talking about being political for the sake of being political, cos if u do that then u start to say things u cant back up, and while vedder writes songs that criticise bush he has done them regarding things that bush cannot account for: the fact that once he took over the US became the most hated country in the world, his stance on foreign policies (how they deal with wars) etc. you do have a point but the reality is not as severe as you said |

U2 – The First Time Lyrics

maybe it means that he doesnt need as though he needs to "stay in the house" - for the first time he feels supported/loved (whatever way you want to say it) cos he knows now that jesus/god is there for him no matter what. so he doesnt need to hide away locked in a house, he can face whatever it is he has to face (a common sign in people who have a strong faith)....did that make any sense? |

it seems2show abortion as the lesser of 2evils in a way - it can have massive effects on the person who has it - it says in the song (presuming u go with the pregnancy meaning) that the girl here initially tries to carry on with the pregnancy&then cant do it& "folds"...and WS4 got it spot on, Eddie is known2b in favour of abortions (for people who cant viably raise a child if theyre not mentally r financially up to it) |

anyone seen them on the vertigo tour? they play this, Love&PeaceOrElse, and SundayBloodySunday one after the other & he called it the War Trilogy. olts of the similar type images to the elevation tour of kids with guns, people beating each other to death etc. the three songs, while each seems to specifically hav an exact influence (see the argument above) - they all hav the same message - stop killing people - regardless of the political issues, or money, etc. very humanitarian &anti-war section half hour of the show. they then scrolled the declaration of humanrights across the stage. |

i could go with the evolving from when they recorded ten idea, except this was recorded a year after Ten, and they had songs like this recorded before this.
what i get from this is that its about how its hard for us to imagine horrible things that other people experience, how trauma can affect people to the extent that they cannot act as tho they never lived thru it..(all is different now)...if ya get my rambling... |
