The Felice Brothers – Frankie's Gun Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Great song, this band is amazing!!!! I think its about driving to Chicago to pick up drug shipments or something. Also the hard rougish life of dealing in drugs maybe. |
The Cat Empire – Hello Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Saw them play this live in Ithaca NY then got the cd! Freakin awesome band!! |
Chris Cornell – You Know My Name Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i really like the song. way deeper than most bond songs it seems to me. |
John Frusciante – Away & Anywhere Lyrics | 17 years ago |
wow, one of the deeper but understandable J. Frusciante songs. A couple of little lyrics corrections make it even more interesting: "I'm away, I'm away, and anywhere should suffice." "Passing highway traffic, while just lying there." |
John Frusciante – Time Goes Back Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"and when given this life I ought to have thank you all who will take it away" I think there he's talking about how whenever you interact with somebody a little of their personality or knowledge or self rubbs off and becomes part of you as well. I get that idea from a couple other songs on Shadows as well. This is a beautiful song, probably in my top 5 favorites by Froo. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Strip My Mind Lyrics | 18 years ago |
beautiful song. Hades was the greek god of the dead and the underworld, so i think its saying hot as hell, maybee remembering some bad stuff they did back in the 80s. I think the song is about remembering back to good times you had in the past. Then later you try to re-create them but cant, not with money at least. ("all the cash and not a clue") |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Slow Cheetah Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This is one of my favorites on the album so far. Lahdee said a lot of good stuff. Personally the song makes me think about people getting older and slower, especially the "most people have so much to say" verse. It is kind of saying to live your dreams while you have the chance, before you get old and turn into a slow cheetah. I guess I dont see how the slow cheetah coming could be so euphoric though, unless maybe its talking about being able to apreciate the beauty of life more as you get older. just my take. Live your dreams, dont dream your life. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – If Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This is a really beautiful song. The lyrics and the mood it sets reminds me of Still by the Foo Fighters, especially the last verse. |
Foo Fighters – Still Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song sets such a perfect mood to start off the soft disc. Its probably my favorite on the album. It reminds me of hanging around the train tracks at the bottom of my street with my friends when i was a kid. |
John Frusciante – The Slaughter Lyrics | 19 years ago |
the mind cops could be your concience too. "theyre the only ones worth changing what you do for" like the only reason to change what you do is to be true to yourself... what an amazing song |
John Frusciante – Ricky Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"Maybe the end, "and you can function as someone besides who you are", just re-affirms the song as a whole. He is saying that you can actually function as someone besides who you are - which is a scary thought. Yet - just because you can function in such a manner doesn't mean it is a good thing." - Owenparry I agree completely. Just because you can function besides who you are doesnt mean its good for you. listen to how the song, which was in major, ends on that minor chord right as he says that for the last time. |
John Frusciante – In Relief Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"travel slowly, move in circles" Dont moove too fast and forget who you are or were. As a person you will change and evolve slowly, but you cant lose sight of your past. by traveling in circles you come back to the same places where you were, but as a slightly different person. maybe this ties in with "you make it through the day, see things another way" i like what you said ILJF. the way the electronic introductions and tracks are used to change the moods on this album are nothing short of brilliant. |
John Frusciante – This Cold Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i think the end of this song holds a lot of the meaning to this song. he is waiting to know what his fate will be, but its "never talking back to him" also the way this entire album flows together when you listen to the whole thing is just amazing |
John Frusciante – Second Walk Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"be who you are, do what you do, not win or lose" be yourself, and dont worry what others think, is what i think john learned from his expericnes. |
John Frusciante – Every Person Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"you know this moment in time is all my life, every day is each day thats passed, every person alive is everyone who's died" The only time you really have any control over is the present, but at the same time everyone, and everything, from the past affects you, your views on things, and how you change the present. |
John Frusciante – The First Season Lyrics | 19 years ago |
this song is just amazing. the bass notes are so flowing its like you're floating down a river. his voice is awesome too in its one way. |
John Frusciante – Someone's Lyrics | 19 years ago |
this is such a great song! I think this is about not finding the one you love yet, but knowing that they are out there and that you will find them eventually. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – I Could Have Lied Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think its about how he loved a girl and she didnt love him back - just like has already been said. He could have lied (tried to change what he was) and he probably could have gotten her, but his "eyes could never never never keep their cool" so he showed her who he really was. she had struck him as beautifl or somebody he would want to be with, but now hes disappionted because he "could have lied" amazing guitar solo. john frusciante forever |
Audioslave – The Curse Lyrics | 19 years ago |
And if our paths forget to cross It doesn’t mean you’re lost if "this" doesnt work out, remember that everything works out in the end. sometimes it sounds like he's saying "and as your laughing at the moonlight, dont you kill yourslef." I think this and #1 zero are both about some girl that was too high for some guy (Chris Cornell maybe, although he could get a lot) to get. |
Audioslave – Dandelion Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song could be about a girl, but i also think it could be about one's children. I dunno if Chris Cornell has any kids, but if he has one i think it would be for them. Born of restless night the moon as a pearl |
Audioslave – #1 Zero Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think the person in this song wants somebody that is so high above him that he would do anything to have her. he would "be her pawn." "Out of your mouth, in every word Down in your ego one thing is sure I will keep you, I will keep you" Regardless of what she does or how much she treds upon him for no reason at all he would stay by her side... if he could only get her... |
Audioslave – I Am the Highway Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This is one of my favorite songs. I think karmakazi had some good points with the bible reference. Also the begining of the song reminds me of a pipe organ, which is often religeous. It sets a great dark mood for the rest of the song too. Fading like a rose talked about treating people with respect, i think the song also says dont keep yourself around people who dont show you respect and those who dont really know who you are. Maybe through the chorus he's trying to get somebody to realize what he really is by telling him what he is not, and what he is instead. |
