I personally think this song is about a boy that feels he is in the 'lower league' compared to a girl he really likes who is in the 'higher league' Because.... He says ''I'm in the basement, you're in the sky, '' as in she is like much higher than him, she's a bright sky whilst he is just a dingy basement. Plus he describes: ''Hold your breath and count to ten, And fall apart and start again, '' As in the feeling he gets whenever he walks past her, he holds his breath because of her beauty and falls apart because he likes her. I think this song is possibly about a girl that is so arrogant/big headed that she's become lost and not concerned for other people or grateful for those helping her. For example: ''I'm choking on your pride'' ''And you don't appreciate that in my hands tonight, is where your fate lies'' I think the line ''Her face drains...'' is when she realises she isn't all that. Seeing as a 'Labyrinth' is like a complex maze sort of thing that is easy to get lost in I think this refers to her self-obsession. Also the lines ''Nothing seems to break the walls down, break the walls, down...'' and ''We'll break the walls down!'' are referring to the fact of breaking down the 'labyrinth's' walls and escaping from loving yourself too much. Probably is wrong but whatever, that's my interpretation. :] |

I agree with the whole club/two people/drugs thing ''He’s confident, but he's not aware, She doesn't care.'' When your 'under the influence' you're more confident to people you like and you don't notice they arn't interested. ''Everything seems to intimidate him, with the strobe lights flashing, her body's jolting'' the confusion when you're drunk or whatever with all the chaos in a nightclub. ''The curtain goes down on him again…'' Im guessing this is like the closing of the whole chaotic 'show' that has been him making a fool out of himself? and he's failed once again to get the girl. simelion, Sonny doesn't write many songs on this album because he didn't come into the band until later. I think most of them are by Travis and Matt. But Sonny will probably write more songs on the next album that they have been talking about. But yeah, I love this song. I've always thought it's some kind of joke and exagerration. I love the screaming in this song especially. |
