Kaskade – Fire in Your New Shoes Lyrics 13 years ago
I think the song is about going to a rave. More specifically about a girl/girls going to a rave, and the excitement that they get getting dressed up for one.

Death Cab for Cutie – We Laugh Indoors Lyrics 14 years ago
I've been a DCFC admirer for a long time, and am now deciding to share my thoughts on the meaning of this song...

First of all, I really don't think there's a right or wrong meaning to any song, especially one of Ben's songs. I honestly think they all have a certain direction but the end meaning belongs only to the end listener. I may view this song completely different from anyone else here, simply because of different life experiences. Anyhow, here's how I interpret "We Laugh Indoors":

I think this song is more a way of Ben (or the listener) to tell Guenivere (or the listeners girl/guy) that they are over them, but still remember the love and life they had. From laughing and loving... to eventually splitting and moving on.

The word "loved", in this song, is very powerful. It says to me that he loved her and STILL loves her, but it's now time to move on. He wouldn't be telling her that he loved her unless he, in some way, still loved her. And I don't really think it's a mean spirited "I loved you", like rubbing it in her face that he no longer is in love with her. I think it's a very healthy and forward thinking way of saying it to her. As in "What we had was great, I'll always wish it lasted and will wonder what we would have been, but it's over. I'll always love you, but it's time to move on, Guenivere."

One of the more emotionally powerful songs from DCFC, especially concerning relationships.

Death Cab for Cutie – Passenger Seat Lyrics 14 years ago
SUCH a great, great song. I can't think of another DCFC song which is as good at making you instantly feel the exact emotions of the song writer.

My ex and I use to take drives to the beach in my old truck, about a two hour drive from where I am at. The drives back were always so calm, and relaxing. We'd put on great music like DCFC, JEW, or Incubus, and just melt into each other. My arm around her, her head against my chest. Sharing the comfortable silence. At that moment everything in life made sense.

Even though we've fallen out of love, and that time of our lives is over and gone I can still look back and feel what I felt... I may not love her anymore, but I will always love her in that memory...

This is an epic DCFC song for me.

Cascada – What Hurts The Most Lyrics 15 years ago
I think it's a good version. It gives a completely different feel to the song.

In my opinion...

The Rascal Flatts version is a much more sad, heartbroken version. It's the singer expressing their sadness and depression in a very 'sad' way.

The Cascada version seems to me, because of the faster pace and the electronic arraignment, that it's more about being sad about what could have been, but moving on. I know, the lyrics are identical, but sometimes different music can make you interpret the lyrics differently.

I am going through a difficult break-up as we speak, and songs like this, that are very sad but fast paced, give me a feeling of 'moving on'. Like I said before, being sad about the way things ended up, but moving on.

It's not:

"And never dare make up the mannequins"

It's:

"An epidemic of the mannequins"

GREAT SONG. Hard to believe Corey Taylor can go from one skull crushing song with Slipknot, to a beautiful song like this w/ Stone Sour.

Like I said, great song.

Deepsky – Ghost Lyrics 18 years ago
Great song. Jes Brieden has an AMAZING voice. If you are a fan of trance, especially euphoric trance, you'll love this song.

This one is hard for me to figure out. Could be about meeting someone you can't stop thinking about. Could be about losing someone close to you. Not quite sure.

Here's what I kinda get from it:

It makes me think of someone who felt empty. Then this one person who made them feel complete came along. Now that person has passed away, and the singer is planning on taking his/her own life to be with that person.

Some lyrics with my interpretation:

"I was a ghost before you came, I was a slave but then I changed"

-I was empty, nothing, until I met you...

"So leave me alone Before the strain Of listening to me Becomes more Than you can bear"

-Now that this person is gone, the singer spends a lot of time telking to them (praying, ect..). He/she's asking the ghost to leave them alone so they can forget about them and move on, of else they will just continue talking to them

"I feel you calling me when I am alone
I feel you calling me it's keeping me up
I wanna be with you now"

-This person keeps hearing the one they lost talking to them

I don't know, just seems that way to me. Great song though. If you like this one, you'll love "Motorcycle - As the Rush Comes (feat Jes Brieden)".

This song is DEFINETLY 100% about rolling.

When you're rolling, as you're peaking, you feel a STRONG, fast build-up. A rush.

The most obvious meaning to this song would be that it's about death. If you have seen the video, it supports that.

Why does everybody think every song is about Dave Mustaine trying to get back at Metallica. Every Megadeth song on here is followed by someone saying:

"This song is about Dave trying to show Metallica he can be successful....."

Not every song is about that. I believe this song really has no exact meaning. It was a fun song put together from some of Megadeths past songs. It sounds like a song they have fun playing/singing, and that is what I beleive it was written for. Also many of these songs, while ass kicking, were not successful for Megadeth.

That is all.

He's all like "Hey beby, I like to touch little boys wangs and shit", and she's all "Oh, you are soooo sexy, can I tough your wang?" and he's all "uhhh, shhhyeah" and then they probably do it or something, I dunno.

Megadeth – Architecture of Aggression Lyrics 19 years ago
Without giving it hours of thought, my first guess is this song is about the leader of another country invading another, and taking it over (ie.. US/Iraq present day).

"To envelop its prey below,
Deliver to the light"

The invading country's leader (we'll call him Leader #1) decides he knows what's best for this other country, so he sets out to take them over and take the defending leader (we'll call him Leader #2) over.

"Great nations built from the bones of the dead"

Basically saying "I know a lot of people are gonna have to die, but think of it, it's gonna be so great after we assume power and rebuild"

"You know your worth when your enemies
Praise your architecture of aggression"

Obviousley the invading country is much more powerful than the defending, and may be more powerful than any other country for that matter. This means these other countrys have no chance of defending, or suppressing leader #1, thus giving #1 the the feeling of worth and power.

"A toppled leader dies
His body fuels the power fire"

Just that, #1 takes down #2 quick style. #2 going down so easy leads #1 to believe he is unstoppable, thus must go after more leaders/people.

"One side of his face a kiss,
The other genocide"

On one side (let's use GWBush for example) he is praised as baing a great leader, and is very much admired, on the other side, he is power hungry, and will spare no expense or life for his cause.

"Time to pay with your ass,
A worldwide suicide"

Meaning the world is not gonna stand by and watch #1 continue his heinus acts, therefore causing a world war of epic proportions.

That's my quick evaluation of it anyway....
