The Menzingers – Even For an Eggshell Lyrics | 13 years ago |
It's clearly about Hamlet by William Shakespeare. |
Papa Roach – Time is Running Out Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Wow, I think you people make it a lot more negative. In my opinion, it's about people thinking your life sucks, they want you to change it, but you won't. It doesn't have to be drugs, it could be starving artist, working a minimum wage job, or something along those lines. I mean, it could be about drugs or drinking, but I doubt that they would write a song that negative. |
The Planet Smashers – Uncle Gordie Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This has to be my new favourite Planet Smashers song. Love hockey. Love The Planet Smashers. Love this song. |
Madina Lake – We'll Be Okay Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I want this song to be played at when I grad... |
Madina Lake – Today(smashing pumpkins cover) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Does anyone know where I can get this? |
Madina Lake – Me VS The World Lyrics | 16 years ago |
It sounds like it's about their mom. |
Aly & AJ – Rush Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song can be about Astral Projection or Being Yourself or WHATEVER. Personally, I'm going to interpret it as "Carpe Diem" The beauty of music, it can be interpreted in so many ways. |
Fefe Dobson – As A Blonde Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think this song has two meanings. The first one is just poking fun at the blonde stereotype. You know, people who get whatever they want just because they have a recessive trait. The other meaning I think is just contemplating what life would be like if you were a different person. Like, what would your life be like if you were blonde, or a boy. Or how would you act if you saw yourself from a different point of view. So for the most part, I guess it's a song about identity. |
Papa Roach – To Be Loved Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I have this thing with relating songs to Carpe Diem, and I really think this song captures some of those themes: "I'll never give in" "I'll never give up" "I've gotta follow my heart, no matter how far. I've gotta role the dice, never look back, and never think twice." Pretty Carpe Diem to me. This song made me a fan of Papa Roach. It's got that catchy rock angriness [emo my ass], with some insightful lyrics. So basically, I think this song is about Carpe Diem. Seize the day and don't regret it. |
Love Arcade – Goin' Down Smooth Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Anberlin – The Unwinding Cable Car Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is beautiful. |
Yellowcard – Light Up the Sky Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Sounds like a love song to me...can't really go on that more can I? Awesome track too. |
Yellowcard – Fighting Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is beautiful. YC can do no wrong. |
Billy Talent – Burn The Evidence Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I'm surprised no one's mentioned this yet. Doesn't anyone feel this song relates somewhat to the VIDEO for "River Below"? Not the song itself, just the video. The artwork for Burn the Evidence has a guy who looks eerily similar to the guy in River Below, and the lyrics do relate to what happens in the video. A garage that explodes, and a man who clearly looks lost in his life. Perhaps I've looked into it too much, but when I first heard this song this is what I thought it was about; the guy in the River Below video. |
Madina Lake – Now or Never Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This is, by far, my favourite Madina Lake song ever. I live by the words "The safest place in life is now, today's the day we're breaking out" This song, to me is about living life to it's fullest, it's an inspirational song, and that's why it's my favourite. But to tie it into the whole Madina Lake story I think it's one of two things. 1) This is how he originally meets Adalia (she breathes life into him) or 2) This is both of them trying to escape Madina Lake because they realize they won't reach their full potential if they stay. But in general, I think it's just about getting up, and doing something with your life or else you're gonna end up dying with no real experiences, regrets, and disappointment. |
Madina Lake – Morning Sadness Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I kind of think this is about Matthew and Nathan losing their mother. I know, that has nothing to do with the big elaborate ML story, but they've said their music garners inspiration from their actual lives, so this may be it. Obviously someone has died ("while you were still here" "lost loved one" and all this talk about meeting God), so I think it's about the sadness that comes when losing someone so close to you. |
Madina Lake – One Last Kiss Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Kinda obvious I think. Girl breaks up with boy. Boy is heartbroken beyond words because he thinks he was so good to her. |
Madina Lake – Pandora Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think everyone else hit the nail on the head. It's obviously about cheating. |
Madina Lake – River People Lyrics | 17 years ago |
If I'm not mistaken, River People are what the residents of Madina Lake are called. I think this has to do with the River People's behavior to celebrities (Adalia). If you let them get so obsessed sooner or later the object of their love loses their identity, and then they want to escape, but they can't. Or something like that. |
Madina Lake – True Love Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Kinda obvious. Adalia breaks up with him. The end. Kinda connects with "One Last Kiss" if you ask me, |
Madina Lake – Stars Lyrics | 17 years ago |
^^I don't know. On ML's myspace there was a news article that said "That's just the thing about Madina Lake. Everyone wants to be famous." Unless that line, and this song is a coincidence, I do think it's literal. Whoever this guy is, it's obvious he and Adalia want to escape Madina Lake. I think Adalia wants to get famous, literally, and this guy is just trying to make her feel better. |
Madina Lake – House Of Cards Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Even if this song isn't about cheating, there's still cheating in the story. If you've read the lyrics to Pandora you know why. Adalia loves this guy, and this guy loves Adalia. However, he's been cheating on her with Pandora, which is so blatantly obvious in the song. I just wanna know who drowns. |
Good Charlotte – Victims of Love Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love Good Charlotte. But I think everyone should listen to this song, and then to "Not Gonna Get Us" by tAtU. Parts of it are way too similar if you ask me. But I still like both songs. |
Good Charlotte – Break Apart Her Heart Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think the meaning behind this song is a little obvious. This guy loves a girl, but because he's so nice the girl loses interest in him. Joel is saying that to keep her interested is to upset her and basically make her life a living hell. There's some truth in this song, which makes it really sad. |
Sugarcult – The Investigation Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This is seriously one of Sugarcult's most beautiful songs ever. It's just so...stunning, dazzling, wonderful. I have no words to describe how awesome this song is, and how much I love it. And I think the meaning is a little obvious. |
Nelly Furtado – Powerless (Say What You Want) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
To clear things up, here's the definition for ethnicity: "A sense of being different than other groups because of cultural tradition, ancestry, national origin, history, or religion" So by that definition, Nelly is ethnic. I love this song, and as much as I love Nelly's new album, it's just not as good as her first two. She sold out. Sad but true. |
Avril Lavigne – Girlfriend Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I heard that this song makes fun of Paris Hilton. If you don't get why, remember that Paris used to date Avril's now husband, Deryck Whibley of Sum 41. |
Belvedere – Slaves to the Pavement Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I believe this song is about being on the road. And how it changed their lives. Like, "empty halls, empty stomachs, empty hopes" kinda like no one came to your show, you didn't make any money so you can't feed yourself and then when no one watches you play it's a huge dissappointment. And "i would have ended up that way if not for those miles those endless days" is like saying you learned stuff. and also "though we surrender what others loved to treasure we ended up with so much more" is like saying you're giving up your job, and time with your family, you're starving yourself and they gave it up but they learned so much from the experience. I really love this song. |
