Amy does a song on every album for her sister, who passed away. The song seems to be about passing on, but perhaps it's from clinging to her sister in the dead realm and rejoining the living. This is the vibe that i get. Beautiful song. |

There's quite a few songs called Lithium. Can't wait for the video clip. I think Liquid Spears nailed the meaning. It's about being inlove with your sorrow. To me anyways, like Amy can see everything going on, all the shit, and she feels guilty because she likes it and likes the sorrow it puts her though, even though she doesn't really want to. That doesn't make sense i know but i can relate. One of the most amazing songs ever. |

She definately hits notes lower than i can remember hearing in any other Evanescence song. (Except Bruce in Lies).
This song is blunt, but it's good. Not as good as the others though. I pretty much solely listen to this song to hear the line "i don't sleep" and then get sad when it's over. |

I always thought this song was simply what the title suggests- losing control. But now i can definately see where your coming from with the married man. It fits perfectly. Except i could never see Amy being that type. To me it definately seems to be about a loveless relationship though. No romance, just sex.
This song is so sexy. It's awesome. I love that Evanescence can take this route on board and yet still be themselves. Only worry is the piano through the whole song- if Amy is playing the piano during the song she won't be able to get into it as much which is a nessessity (sp?) with this one. |

But in something i probably should have mentioned before and should be talking about more. I think this song is Amy wanting somebody to love her. Their not being what she wants so she needs to let them go but she can't let go of the fact that she could still have them if they were who she wanted them to be.
Lord knows if that made sense or if it is even correct but that's that i think. |

Amy describes it as the "Hello" of this album.
I think by reading the lyrics, and keeping in mind who Amy was writing them for, it's very evident what their about. A kind of love and missing of remarkable streangths. It's powerful. |

A little dissapointed, it doesn't have the capturing qualities the other Evanescence songs posess. But it's still amazing.

This is the first song that has ever made me cry of every emotion at once.
To me its about having a friend who cuts herself and dies. I think the narrater of the song feels as if she should have done more to help her friend and feels really regrettful. The line "I lay quiet waiting for her voice to say, some things you lose and some things you just give away" is supposed to show this guilt also as if she didnt lose the friend- she didnt try hard enough to keep her.
So much passion in the last few lines. Tis so amazing. |

I agree with most of the people in here, its about being inlove with someone and now having those feelings returned to the point that you are willing to only believe what you want to about them. It could be from a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship or even a parent/child relationship if you think about it. Very beautiful song.

To me this song was about a young girl whos going through a really tough time and realizes that the only way she will be able to get over this is with her friend/boyfriend by her side. Thats what i was thinking when i heard it anyways.
This is an awesome song! I think its so pretty! For some reason though it makes me want to cry! Amy's voice is just really overpowering and beautiful and this song really brings that out. |

To me this song is about someone who wants to be rich and famous and powerful, but she does some pretty bad things to get to that spot, eg. I took their smiles and I made them mine

I think that she realizes that she is turning unice (is that a word?) and superficial and notices her loved one/s drifting away because thats where she pushed them. Thats just what it meant to me. Evanescence kicks ass! |
