I agree about the paparazzi, honestly, that was the very first thing I thought about when I heard this song, especially since its well known Chris is a very private person and hates photographers always trying to take pictures of him. And its referring to how you can't escape them and that's not what he got into the business for. And how you can't touch them because that would be reacting exactly how they want. but...I think it can have a double meaning, relating to the problems in life and how you can't keep running from them, and you have to face your demons or they'll just get worse and worse. |

| the end part of this song, the first time I heard it, made me bawl my eyes out. its so beautiful and poetic, and the piano melody just seemed to reach inside me and touch my soul. it was amazing. And seeing Coldplay perform this live is spectacular because there's so much passion and energy in his voice. Its a great song, I wish it weren't so under appreciated though. Coldplay rocks! | |

this song is amazing, its one of those rare songs that gives you shivers down your spine, and can bring to different levels and kinds of emotions in a matter of seconds. I cried the first time I heard it, especially this line, "when you love someone but it goes to waste" it brings home feelings of hopelessness, when you want something to work, to be perfect so much, but it all goes to hell. i think that's one of the most painful moments of life, and this song makes it so real and beautiful with chris' voice echoing in your soul, it like taking all your feelings and writing them exactly to the melody of a song. |

| I'm not sure what the meaning of this song is, but I think it has to do with the unknown and uncertainty that comes with life, like little white shadows out there that you can't see, kinda like the future. And I think it also can refer to relationships and how unsure they can be and the spotaneity with which they come to be. | |

I love this song... to me it seems like this person is trying to get somewhere, or explain something to someone, and that person just isn't listening or even trying to hear what they have to say. So he's basically stuck in the same spot, with all these things he wants to do, but can't because something is holding him back. |
