Tool – Disgustipated Lyrics

I think the general meaning of the first part is that the masses are too willing to accept ridiculous ideas in the name of religion. Thus the sheeps bleating. |

Love the singing, music is good. But I hate the lyrics... "most loneliest day of my life"? Come on, SoaD. You can do better than that. ;P |

Pink Floyd – Waiting for the Worms Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
I think you all have this album all wrong. All of Pink's suffering is self-inflicted. He's building the wall around himself and attempting to justify all of the wrongdoings he has committed in his life by doing so. The Nazi sequence is a bout of insanity caused by the drugs given to Pink in Comfortably Numb to "keep him going for the show". He uses this as a chance to become a dictator to his fans... to make himself feel more important and powerful. |

I can not contribute to the meaning any further, but the Worm's part in the song is just plain awesome. |

Pink Floyd – Goodbye Cruel World Lyrics

Listening to this song, I imagine Pink piling up the bricks, building his wall. The sudden "goodbye" at the very end is the last brick laid. |

Pink Floyd – Comfortably Numb Lyrics

The "video" prasvn is talking about is probably a scene in the movie The Wall.
By the way, has anyone heard the live performance of this song by Pink Floyd with Nine Inch Nails and David Bowie? Roger Water's vocals were just amazing. |

Great song, one of the bests tracks on Demon Days... but I like Miho Hatori as Noodle more than the woman they used for this... |

RockXWL, the legend of Zelda song was not done by System of a Down. I forget what band, but it wasn't System of a Down. |

All my life I had been told this was a Talking Heads song... you've got to admit it sounds like it is!
Well, anyway, good song. |

Gorillaz – Feel Good Inc. Lyrics

"So dont stop, get it, get it
Until you're cheddar header
Yo, watch the way I navigate, "
I think 'until you're cheddar header' should be 'until you jet ahead'. It just seems to make more sense. |

Gorillaz – 19-2000 Lyrics

Spread: The two members of Gorillaz are not Damon Albarn and the Automater... it's actually Jamie Hewlett and Damon Albarn, as they are the only two that have worked on every single Gorillaz song and video. Del Tha Funky Homosapien has been credited as being one of the creators of Gorillaz too, but I'm not sure if that's true.
There are many other writers and musicians that work on the songs... so the voice actors that play 2D, Russle, Murdoc, and Noodle, should all count as 'band members' too. |

Trapt – Still Frame Lyrics

This song is not 'brilliant'! I can't see how anyone sees anything intelligent in these lyrics. Trapt has taken every dumb cliche ever used in a song, and strung it together into something that almost sounds like a freaking joke.
Sorry if that sounded harsh. I'm probably just pissed since this song is played about seven times a day on every radio station around here... |

Honestly the only song by Trapt that I like. I think the meaning is pretty obvious. |

sbroxmysox1991, he wasn't saying it was bad because of the lyrics, he just thought it was one of their worst songs. I sort of agree with him... it's not bad... just not good for a Beatles song. |

I agree completely with Dirty Dan on the meaning.
I love this song. I'd even go as far as to say it's my favorite Beatles song, if not one of my favorite songs of all time. |

Soundgarden – Spoonman Lyrics

TakeOnSnake could be right.
But then again, it could be meaningless, or in fact about Artis the Spoonman. Why would I know? I didn't even know who the band that played this song was until a few minutes ago.
Anyway, it's good. Not a song I've ever thought to have a real 'meaning', though.
Oh, and by the way:
NOT ALL SONGS ARE ABOUT DRUGS OR MASTURBATION.
Thank you. |

Alice in Chains – Rooster Lyrics
|
Several friends of mine have suggested that the term 'rooster' is a reference to cocaine, and that it means that once you've snorted coke or smoked pot, etc., you'll be hooked. "Here they've come to snuff the rooster, yeah here come the rooster, yeah, you know he ain't gonna die" could refer to the addiction; it could be about a man's friends trying to help him and get him off the drug (here they've come to snuff the rooster), but it's all useless (he ain't gonna die).
But then, looking at the other comments and paying more attention to the lyrics whenever I hear the song, it's more likely about his father in Vietnam. |
