Incubus – Pistola Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Yeah, pistola also means "pistol" in Spanish, jackass. Words are weapons. It's pretty fucking simple. |

A great cover. I cannot listen to this version without crying. |
Shakira – Obtener Un Si Lyrics | 18 years ago |
A very light, carefree-sounding song (though the chick in the song doesn't sound so carefree, of course). |

Only thing I don't quite understand is what he means by "plugging in the mains." It sounds like he's going to electrocute himself, lol. |

Radiohead – Killer Cars Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Is it possible to state your message without being confrontational? Yes. Thom is a little wary of cars, as we all should be. He's said something along the lines of "We're just riding on those things, you know. We're not in control of them." For myself it brings to mind a fear of the way we live our lives, trusting in things that just carry us along without thinking about how we got from point A to point B. We do a lot of things without thinking. We go to the ATM and expect this box to spit money into our hands because that's just what it does. Hop on the train, and it goes. Press this button, the box turns on and shows us images. That sort of thing. No one stops to think that what you're looking at is tons and tons of tiny points of red, green, and blue light. You're sitting there staring at a box, but if you catch yourself you'll notice that when you're absorbed in what you're watching it's almost like you ignore your peripheral vision. All you see is what's in front of you. Sorry. That got long-winded. Oh well. |

Well, it's not exactly a formal essay, is it? It's not like JeffKaos was trying to claim credit. |
Radiohead – Everything in Its Right Place Lyrics | 18 years ago |
From http://radiohead1.tripod.com/songs/album/everything.htm "In an article at Rolling Stone.com, Thom revealed the meaning of this song. It was during the OK Computer tour in 1997. When Thom started to lose it, with the pressure of touring and being the best band in rock. Thom came off stage after a show at the NEC in Birmingham (UK) and, well... here's what he says about it: "I came off at the end of that show, sat in the dressing room and couldn't speak. I actually couldn't speak. People were saying, 'You all right?' I knew people were speaking to me. But I couldn't hear them. And I couldn't talk. I'd just so had enough. And I was bored with saying I'd had enough. I was beyond that.". The lyric 'What was that you tried to say?' suddenly doesn't seem so random. Apparently 'Yesterday I woke up sucking a lemon' was how Thom described the feeling because when you eat a lemon, your face contorts from the bitterness. He said his face was permanently like that." Like most, if not all good music, this song can mean different things to different people, and even different things to the person who created it. |
Radiohead – We Suck Young Blood. (Your Time Is Up.) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Oh, and adding to the foie gras thing, the way they used to do it (I'm pretty sure this method's illegal here, now; not sure about other places) was by nailing the goose's feet down so it couldn't walk around and then feeding it lots and lots of very fatty food. Then the pate is made from the liver, which is extremely rich as a result of the goose's diet. |

This song gives me a weird feeling when I watch people out in public while listening to it. Also, I think the "poli-tics" thing is supposed to be more of a joke. ya know. ;) I'm not sure where it was I read it, but I definitely remember it being in a humorous context. I think aubree probably realizes that. |
