Okay, so here's what l think this one is about. It really sounds like the story of someone who seems to have gotten themself into a fling (or almost-fling) with someone who is not available - or while they are not available. Knowing full well that this is not a safe or smart idea and if they got caught it would be disastrous. "Put your lips close to mine, as long as they don't touch" basically screams to me "it's not cheating if we don't *really* kiss". |

Favorite song off "Red". Whether or not Taylor is trying to paint a picture of her future (getting out of the business) or she's describing another singer who's already got their Rose Garden over Madison Square... I can just see it all so clearly. She paints the picture so well. l personally think it isn't about any one person in particular... Maybe a mix of several sources of inspiration. In any case, I love this song, it's wonderful. |

the kid thing is kinda odd...sounds like a british girl to me but anyway.. i adore this song. i looooove the 6/8 bit. and i also am reminded of muse by it. IMO, not really meant to be a deep song. yeah it's twisted and sick but honestly, i dont take it seriously. just because of how weird it is, the twisted nature isn't so bad to me. i could just be weird though. in any case, i love it. |

I love the intro with all the pornstars...It proves that they're not stupid or something, just because they do porn. And it's weird, I now have this intense desire to befriend faye runaway...anyway.
Didn't love the song at first, but I keep listening to it and I've fallen in love...Great groove, will be a good party song. And yeah, the lyrics aren't deep, but Jenny's vocals go excellently with the song, and I think that's what matters in this sort of song. I know I love many songs with great music and vocals, with little-to-no words.
and the meaning is entirely about pornstars and like, LA..but you could interpret it as anyone who just does their job they hate for money...but we know it's about the porn industry. |

I also love love love this song. To me however, this song is more about a girl who ends up driving a guy away without meaning to. someone she really loved but was too obsessive over her own insecurities and maybe didn't focus enough on trying to get through it, and letting him in. I think that the driving home line (in all its variations) sort of means an end to the relationship. Like, we can't do anything more than this so let's just end without a fight. and the line "I never said I was perfect but I can take you away" seems almost like her last pleading to fix things. |

I think that this song is mostly about a vacation she took herself, just a free summer when she was young and had a beautiful fun, but short fling with a man who was all these things women seem to want. Exotic, cultured, etc...and then years later when they've "grown up" he's changed to the husband image that we always see in tv and stuff, the type women hate...but she still loves him and has something special for him, even if he is kinda boring =) she remembers the times they had =) |

You know, it's weird, to me the lyrics say one thing, but the music says totally another. True, the lyrics are about revenge on someone--but the music has sort of a happy twist. the beginning is still that revengeful, evil person, but by the time you get to the first "I nearly died", it's almost as if her opinion about this individual has completely flipped. And in the chorus, the words are "I /came/" being past-tense. I /was/ going to get revenge on you, but I changed my mind. and in the instrumental part, it's their whole making up passionately time. just my opinion ;] |

I agree with most of the comments here, the song seems to be about a breakup, but I think there's a slightly different angle that I see. True, it's about a guy who broke up with a girl, but he's trying to get away, and she won't let him. He wanted to leave her because the relationship was purely physical (if you get what I mean) and he wanted more than that, though she did not.

This is one of my favourite ND songs--ever! I think the song, as are most of the songs on TK, is about Tony. It's pretty much a spite song, because after Tony broke up with Gwen, he wanted to get back with her. But was G going to let that happen? No way. She's saying that she doesn't care if he's facing agony, he just has to get over it, as she did too. |

Wow, umm..no comments?! wtf? Anyways, this song's on the Everything In Time CD of No Doubt and it's just an amazing song. Slow and peppy at the same time. Anyway, my take on it is pretty much about how Gwen has to spend so much time without Gavin because he's off doing things, but she misses him so badly, so she has to "struggle to not want him" and just distract herself. |
