Camille – La Demeure D'un Ciel Lyrics 17 years ago
I've had a go at translating this, but I'm sure there's a few mistakes - I'm only doing AS Level French though so make allowances!
Here it is:

One knew oneself
At the bottom of the steps
Of the palace
All at the bottom of the icy staircase
Your feet were dancing
Naked on snow
And you were singing this outside with mischievousness and grace

Remove now
Your shoes
And put to your foot
Some balls of clouds
Because here from now on
Is the home of a heaven
The home of a heaven

One went up
All the steps
Of the palace
Until reaching the top of the icy staircase
Simplicity
We were waiting
And we got married
Among the wild birds

Remove now
Your shoes
And put to your foot
Some balls of clouds
Because here from now on
Is the home of a heaven
The home of a heaven

Radiohead – Everything in Its Right Place Lyrics 18 years ago
I love it so much. It's a really beautiful song.

I thought the meaning was really obvious actually - if he woke up "sucking on a lemon" then it means he was miserable, but that was yesterday. Now, "everything in its right place" i.e. he feels fine now because everything is how he wants it to be.

Sorry if someone has already posted a similar comment; I only looked through the first two pages. xx

Pinback – Non Photo-Blue Lyrics 18 years ago
I don't really understand it to be honest. It's a good song though.

Pinback – Penelope Lyrics 18 years ago
I actually love it. It's the kind of song to listen to when you've had a really bad/stressful day and then you turn the lights off and stick this on repeat. It's so unbelievably relaxing.

And I love the fact that it's about a goldfish.

'the breathing mask and safety goggles accentuate your eyes'
how very geeky (in a wonderfully loveable way :P)

Northstar – Two Zero Two Lyrics 18 years ago
i like the interpretation about it being about an eating disorder - i never thought of that before, but now i think about it it all seems to fit in.

i thought that it could be something to do with his girlfriend's reputation - the 'loose lips' are gossip 'all over the airwaves' and her reputation is her 'dress' ('she hides so well under that dress') i like the eating disorder thing, but i think it's more likely to do with this girl cheating on him and people talking about the two of them behind their backs - 'but i'm just not ready to rot and dance and laugh to the sweetest death i ever had'

Embrace (UK) – Ashes Lyrics 18 years ago
this song keeps getting stuck in my head... but i like it cos it's really uplifting, especially the chorus. i agree with what that person said about the phoenix rising from its ashes. it's kind of like a metaphor for rising above a situation like being dumped - 'now watch me rise up and leave all the ashes you made out of me'.

The Mars Volta – Televators Lyrics 18 years ago
the first time i listened to this song, it gave me goosebumps. i like the way it starts, with all the noises (birds maybe?) then it kind of builds up into the song. i guess i don't need to post a meaning cos everyone else's interpretations of it seem much better than mine - i had no idea what it meant till i came on here!

Switchfoot – More Than Fine Lyrics 18 years ago
i love this song. like everyone else said, it means wanting to make the most of life - he's not going to give up trying to make things 'more than just ok.'

'when i'm up with the sunrise, i want more than just blue skies'
- blue skies are beautiful, but he wants MORE than that. he wants to see a SUNRISE! this is like a metaphor for life - you can make the most of things and do MUCH better than ok... ok?

To My Surprise – Blue Lyrics 18 years ago
first of all, to my surprise's album has to be the WEIRDEST album i've ever heard. that being said, after a few listens i've grown to love all but a couple of the songs - and this is my favourite. i think it's kind of self-explanatory. he's just saying that his girlfriend shouldn't feel sad ('blue belongs in the sky and not on you or i') and that she won't always feel this way ('you can't always feel blue'). hardly anyone seems to have heard of this band (i'm the only person on the fan list here! lol), and when i typed 'to my surprise' in on limewire, absolutely NOTHING to do with this band turned up. that's the first time that's ever happened to me on limewire. slipknot fans might have heard of them because the 'clown' from slipknot is also in tms, but thankfully they sound completely different. i only got the album cos i liked the cover and i've never seen it in a shop since, but i'm glad i did! if anyone's reading this then i'd encourage you to buy it (i think amazon might sell it.)

Brand New – The No Seatbelt Song Lyrics 18 years ago
this is my absolute favourite song by brand new (with okay i believe you but my tommy gun don't as a close second.) it's one of those songs to listen to when depressed, even though it'll probably make you more depressed... lol idk, but only brand new could make a song this perfect. the title 'no seatbelt song' really reminds me of lyrics from seventy times 7: 'and you can think of me when you forget your seatbelt and again when your head goes through the windshield' anyway, i'm rambling so i'll go...

The Spill Canvas – The Tide Lyrics 18 years ago
well after a lot of research i finally managed to find the video for this song, and it's only fair that i share it with you guys: http://www.111records.com/v3/subpages/media/videos/thetide.mov
it's a great video, and vada and dade are exactly how i imagined them. veronica looks a bit too old, which i think takes away from the whole childhood thing slightly, but it's still good. basically i agree with what other people were saying - the tide is a metaphor for 'real life' and all it's temptations and hardships. the mother is neglectful and doesn't protect her children from the outside world because she's too preoccupied with her own worries (her husband/partner who has left her and depression. maybe domestic violence is involved as well - that's what i got from the video anyway.) because of her neglect, her children get 'swept away' by the 'tide'. i don't think that they actually die, it's just their childhood that 'dies' and the mother only reslises that love is real when it's too late. her children are 'gone' and her advice is now useless. i love the spill canvas, and they give some really good advice here:

'No, heaven's not a place that you go when you die
It's that moment in life when you touch her and you feel alive
So live for the moment
and take this advice, live by every word
Love's completely real, so forget anything that you've heard
and live for the moment now'

The Rocket Summer – Show Me Everything You've Got Lyrics 19 years ago
just one comment? what's that all about?! well i love this song, it constantly gets stuck in my head. i think it's about telling someone to not be afraid of being themselves and not holding back. that's my interpretation anyway. great song though!

Dashboard Confessional – Vindicated Lyrics 19 years ago
i just wanted to say that i love this song, it's probably my fave song at the moment. the bit that always gets stuck in my head is:
'hope
dangles on a string
like slow-spinning redemption'
i'm not sure why since it's not even the catchiest bit, but i guess the song begins and ends with it, so maybe that's why. i'd love to know what it all means though, so i'm about to read some comments and find out. DC rock!!
