Elliott – Away We Drift Lyrics 17 years ago
Yeah, the CD is amazing. Probably one of my favourite of all time. I allways find myself coming back to it. I have an idea of what this song is about - but that's for me. I just felt like saying something. peace.

Very good song. I also really like the version off Elliott's last album 'Photorecording'. It reminds me of Requiem for A Dream.

Wolfmother – Mind's Eye Lyrics 18 years ago
Yeah, Some of their chords and riffs sound a little zeppelin-esque. But come on... nowhere near us much experimentation. John Bonham and Robert Plant were both insanely creative. Especially within that genre, in that era. I have nothing against wolfmother, infact I reckon they are an awesome band of today. But to rate them as highly as one of the most influential and creative bands of the rock genre is a little much. Wolfmother provide a breathe of fresh air in today's music scene. But they are only doing what has already been done.

PS: I would love to see Myles Heskett perform Moby Dick live with such relaxed technical finesse as John Bonham. I truly would.

Remembering Never – How Soon We Forget Lyrics 18 years ago
Yeah, great song. I recomend you guys check out a band skycamefalling, which I believe influenced a lot of hardcore today. Unfortunatly they only ever put out 2 full albums, and broke up. Not trying to demote Remembering Never, but I always liked being steered in the direction of similar but great bands. Skycamefalling was, and always will be, in my opinion, the greatest hardcore band out there.

Isis – So Did We Lyrics 18 years ago
The word that most describes this song to me is Epic. To me it tells the story of something very old, ancient. It has endured the ages, covered the earth. It feels as though they somewhat played a backseat role, 'watching' the world around them. And they watched other's. Things that wore down their skin to their bones, supressing their life. But in the end these entities will come from their hiding and retaliate. I'm most likely wrong about what I've written, but it is just my opinion. To me this seems like a small part of a large tale, almost tolkienesque.

Isis – Carry Lyrics 18 years ago
I could be entirely wrong, but it seems these lyrics suggest some kind of trancidental experience in water. To me, it seems as though the subject is drowning, though it is not a painful or frightening experience. Rather they are changing, becoming a spiritual entity. At first I thought the narrative of this song was from the point of view of a female, a lover perhaps. However, I don't think that is the case. I think the narrative is from an omniscient perspective, though sometimes slips into the water's (itself) point of view.

The subject is obviously in the water, he is drowning
"The water takes hold, Fills his lungs and crushes his body."

The next bit speaks of his departure from his current self in the water, leaving his burderns and becoming true and free. You almost get the feel the subject is englightened by this experience.
"He sees like he's never seen before. I will carry you true and free."

The next bit is final stage of the experience. He dies, and he becomes unrestricted. The truth, freedom.
"Soon he ceases to be at all"

The last two lines seem to me, the most profound. The use of current tense in "he sees like he never sees before" indicates that he is still 'alive'. (Another suggestion of a trancidental experience). It also shows that he percieves in an entirely new way, adding to the feeling of enlightenment. "He is light in water" emphasises this. He is a new being, he is unrestricted, true and free - he is light in water.

Sorry for the long post. This isn't based on anything I have read or heard, so it could be entirely wrong. This is simply what it means to me. PS: it would be good getting a few more ISIS fans to respond to a bit on this site.

Skycamefalling – With Paper Wings Lyrics 18 years ago
This band "Aside From A Day" have blatently stolen lyrics from skycamefalling. And by the way, it's not a cover. These are various lines from various songs. Also this is a fully labelled and distributed band I'm talking.

Various skycamefalling lines: Trees fall like iron on their way down. We bury our hands in their hearts and waste away again. Because I have tried to turn words to stone. And I'll stare straight into the sun. Spent the day catching stars out of the sky back into your heart. So let the sun burn itself out. Bury me beside your sorrow.

Now for these punk's lines: Trees fall like iron on my way. I bury my hands in my heart once again. I've tried to turn gold into stone cold as rain. I'll stare straight into the sun. I spent the day catching stars so let the sun burn itself out. I spent my day with stars, bury me besides the sky, bury me besides the light.

Enya – May It Be Lyrics 18 years ago
BritneySpears Sucks: First of all let me tell you I'm very impressed at your choice of music at 12 years old. As a fantasy artist like yourself, I seriously recommend you watch lord of the rings, and read if you have not done so. The latter being most important. With only a few slight exceptions, the movie is not the trash a lot of people say it is. For the most part it is well done. The book however is pure gold. It is sophisticated, imaginative and genius. It also spawned a lot of the fantasy genre as we know today, and is still unrivalled in its greatness. As a artist of this genre, you must be aware of Allen Lee. His pictures are almost entirely based on Lord Of The Rings.

Peter, Paul and Mary – Puff (The Magic Dragon) Lyrics 18 years ago
I completly agree with all you people that say this is NOT about marijuana. Yes, i have smoked pot before. But seriously people, there is no need to be obsurd. It is so short sighted to presume that every song is about drugs, sex or violence. This is simply a beautifully pure song about children growing up, losing imagination and what it is to be a child. I knew this is a kid, and it still rings true to me today. It is indeed lamenting the transition into adulthood, as a previous user mentioned. And how sad the last few verses are. It creates a perfect atmosphere of the sadness involved with leaving childhood, and the non-complex world. We all sympathise with the dragon, and each one of us laments that part of us that died.

I must say it is unfortunate that these lyrics are able to be interpreted as about marijuana. They were never meant to be.

I completly agree. Amazing as the slow hard drumming increases then around the 3.17 mark is backed up by the ghostly vocals and guitar. Truly awsome song from a great band. I was wondering however, who is the singer on this song?

"when emptiness is all we have to fill the vacancies."
It is powerful lyrics such as this that got me into skycamefalling. What they write is beautiful and healing, and this is one of my favourite songs. Too bad the link for the "laura palmer live" went down on their website. I really wished i could have seen it. Does anybody know where to get any skycamefalling videos?

Hey, this is a great song, like all Pink Floyd. I need some help, i have the "Live In Pompeii" version and one other, however my dad was playing a pink floyd version the other day where there were seagulls on the track. It sounds really good. It is by Pink Floyd although we are unsure what it is from, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Skycamefalling – Shallow Like Sand Lyrics 19 years ago
I completely agree. I’m not sure exactly what the song is about, but like all of skycamefalling's songs you can feel the concept, and the waves of emotion it casts. The lyrics are indeed beautiful, and the music is mesmerising.
