John Butler Trio – Devil Running Lyrics 16 years ago
i'm pretty sure i'm way off, but i see this as a anti-bush protest song. now, understanding completely that jbt are from australia, i do know they are very aware of the problems here in the united states as well.
but as for the song, it talks about an uneducated man, business falling apart and hand on the button of disaster - all of which relating to bush. so i see it as "i see the devil and the devil is running" - as in running our country.
just my two cents.

John Butler Trio – Gov Did Nothin' Lyrics 17 years ago
@bonnaroo 2007 butler said that this song was about how he felt last year while driving through the south and seeing all the devastation of hurricane katrina. there are also some heavy protest lyrics in there - one of the most bold being "But do you really think that the Gov would do nothin'
If all those people were white."

Rocco Deluca & The Burden – Swing Low Lyrics 17 years ago
@bonnaroo 2007 Rocco prefaced this song by saying it was the staple singers who helpted to interest him in music and that this song is a bit of a tribute to them.

Amanda Perez – Angel Lyrics 17 years ago
I'm pretty sure its about a close family member or even lover that had passed away tragically- hence the whole send me an angel. Meaning "God, send him back to me." plus if u watch the video it is dedicated to someone who has passed away at the very end of the video.
Just my two cents!

Stone Sour – Through Glass Lyrics 17 years ago
I know that this is not the correct interpretation of the song, but thoughts i collected upon listening it.
i see the singer discovering an old photograph of a loved one that has passed away and maybe some feelings of guilt being associated with this loved one. maybe like the singer hadnt talked to the person in the photograph for years and the person had passed away before he had a chance to forgive him using the lyrics "sitting all alone inside your head to represent the loneliness of not talking". "looking at you through the glass" meaning looking through a picture frame and "the stars will shine for you" representing this person looking down on them from heaven and ultimately forgiving them.

Bruce Springsteen – Youngstown Lyrics 18 years ago
Youngstown is actually a real blue collar city in ohio. i actually grew up there before leaving for greener pastures. a lot of references to the city and history of steel working.
today the ghosts of steel mills still exist in youngstown and not only are depressing and an eyesore, but something the people of youngstown will never escape.

Lacuna Coil – Swamped Lyrics 19 years ago
I actually have met both Amy Lee and Cristina in person and was privelidged enough to get a pic with both. i would admit that cristina is more attractive, she is downright gorgeus in person. sorry to brag about meeting them

Stereophonics – Just Lookin' Lyrics 19 years ago
this is probly my favorite stereophonics song, what i take from it is that he is thinking about the things in life he always wanted, but isnt getting upset by not having them. it just makes him happy to think about them, but kelly is still happy and satsified with his life.

John Butler Trio – Treat Yo Mama Lyrics 19 years ago
Yeah, I too viewed the song as being a "take care of mother earth anthem" the most obvious being the friends in a tree in north clifton. he also starts the song by askin people not to call him a hippie, which is a typically a stereotype given to greenpeacers. also, the word recipe can be construed as being a reform or a way of changing something. plus the fact that the song is called "treat yo mama" meaning mother nature. and the uranium should be the final indication that this is a song that promotes protecting/respecting mother nature. or maybe im just crazy...

Greenwheel – The End Lyrics 19 years ago
u guys may be right, but i see it as a political song. i view it how the govt really takes advantage of us and how no matter how hard we try we cant change it. like this is almost the end of freedom. even though id like to think its more of a relationship ending the lyrics lead to politics

Earshot – Wait Lyrics 19 years ago
yeah i kinda take that message too. how he inevitably knows he will die alone, so why wait for something that is never gonna come?

Authority Zero – One More Minute Lyrics 19 years ago
the first few times i heard the song without looking at the lyrics i honestly thought this song was about brad nowell and his love for surfing. the one more minute symbolizing how right before he died he had to surf. one more minute to surface. the beaches sandiego symbolizing where bradley had surfaced, when i read the lyrics i discovered i was wrong. but see if u can pick up any resemblances to brad from the song.

Hed PE – The Meadow (Special Like You) Lyrics 19 years ago
u guys are close. i was told by kim, a personal friend of jahreds ( the lead singer of hed pe) that jahred had a friend who did an african painting about elephants and other spiritual meanings relating to african culture. she showed this painting to jahred and it inspired him to write a song about it. at the end of the song u hear a girl talking and that is the artist talking about her painting. a lot of african spiritual symbolisim in this song. the demo version is very raw and has more of a sad feeling to it.

Hed PE – Hill Lyrics 19 years ago
ok as posted on hedrocks.com hed's new official site, the song is about sysophus, the greek patron who tried to push a rock up a hill only to see if fall back down the hill. u may have seen such a resemblance in the recent redbull commercials. very interesting meaning. not one you would think a song would be about.

Crossfade – The Unknown Lyrics 19 years ago
you guys are very close. on crossfade's website you can email and ask the band a question. i tried it and mitch replied telling me that this song is about how a person is invisible to someone they really care about even though they see them everyday. that was what mitch reported. amazing song, my favorite by crossfade.

Silvertide – Blue Jeans Lyrics 19 years ago
At a personal acoustic session i was able to attend with silvertide, walt lafty (the lead singer of silvertide) said that this song was about when he was 16 or 17 and working as a janitor. he said he would do all of his work in a few minutes and sit around the rest of the day and strum his guitar. this song was about some of the thoughts he would think of during his boredom at work, probably about some amazingly hot girl with blue jeans. Nick perri (lead guitarist for silvertide) joked that this song was about walt's old boss. walt denied it. great song.

Silvertide – Ain't Coming Home Lyrics 19 years ago
I've heard Walt Lafty (the lead singer of Silvertide) say two different times that this song is about just forgetting about all the stresses and responsibilites of life and just having fun. Kind of like saying i'm not coming home... ever. A pretty good song. its one of their first if im not mistaken. its on two or three different silvertide albums/eps.

A Perfect Circle – Judith Lyrics 19 years ago
What i heard was that maynard said once that the song was about a friend of his named, Judith, who was a devout christian. judith was in an automobile accident that left her paralyzed. through all of it she remained loyal to her faith. the song is about how maynard basically is telling judith that she has been "left this way" by her faith, but she still remains loyal and a believer.
