| Earlier on in this discussion, many of you were saying that Jimi Hendrix was the best guitarist that ever lived, better than SRV, Jimmy Page, and so on. This isn't true. The lot of you are obviously not guitarists, because if you were , you would understand the level of difficulty in working up these guitarists music. For a little history and my personal opinion, at this time Hendrix was the only guitarist to have real, modern, rock solos. The other bands at this time were those of The Beatles, who didn't really solo much at all. Hendrix is considered the best guitarist of all time not because of his speed and execution, but because of his creativity. He basically revamped the way that we play that instrument. Without Hendrix, we might never have seen guitarists such as Eddie Van Halen, SRV, and the current guitar-god Joe Satriani. These guitarists are all most definitely better guitarists than Hendrix, because they took his creativity one step further. Hendrix paved the way. So next time someone tells you Hendrix is the best, correct them and say that he was the most creative, because his creativity can never be surpassed. | |

I have a complete understanding. The kiss from a rose is that of drugs, and is a comparison to the addiction of love. The love he experiences can only be compared to that of drugs, because, like when on drugs, he is completely focused on this girl that he loves, and it "a high without the pill," making it natural, pure, and perfect. "To me your like a growing addiction that I can't deny." I've felt that recently, and without the satisfaction of this addiction(love), he is likely to turn back to drugs for the comfort and shelter that is no longer provided by this woman. This is a very touching, tear-jerking, and meaningful song to me. |

it sounds as if the girl in this song is depressed and is about to commit suicide, very tragic, "and though it's red blood bleeding from her now it's more like cold blue ice in her heart she feels like kicking out all the windows and setting fire to this life she could change everything about her using colors bold and bright but all the colors mix together--to grey " she has cut herself somehow, and between the twisted emotions of self-defeat, depression, anxiety, etc., the colors of her life, with the help of her spilt blood, has mixed to grey.
