Queen – Heaven For Everyone Lyrics 19 years ago
This was written by Roger for his band The Cross. Was originally released on Shove It, but with vocals by Fred. Just thought I'd share that with you!

Great use of a thunderstorm on this song...

Queen – Bijou Lyrics 19 years ago
Bijou is on Innuendo. It's supposed to be inverted in that the guitar plays the part a vocal would normally and the vocal is the solo to the song. Very unique, and a wonderful piece of music.

movielicious, don't know how much of Queen's work you know, but if you hear this song and like it then check out Nevermore from the Queen II album and You Take My Breath Away from A Day At The Races. And My Melancholy Blues from News Of The World. These songs are simply wonderful pieces, most of them just Fred on the piano. Also the Forever piano piece on the A Kind of Magic CD. That last one is Brian on the piano and is a kind of instumental to the Who Wants To Live Forever song. ALl good stuff. If you enjoy those, then just work your way through the rest of Queen's catalogue. You won't be dissapointed.

Queen – Who Needs You Lyrics 19 years ago
Great song from John Deacon. Sounds great - good vocal from Fred. Seems to be about a pushy woman. I think John's songs are generally about his relationship with his wife, and the relationship seems to go up and down as he wrote You're My Best Friend, I Want to Break Free etc. Either that or he's had a few affairs along the way, but he's always seemed like a family man. But he was 'caught' coming out of a strip club once in the 90s I think

Maybe, but this was written by Brian, Black Queen by Fred

Queen – Was It All Worth It Lyrics 19 years ago
I think you're right. I think this was a Freddie song, although the others may have helped. Roger was apparently quite good with fitting in lyrics when someone was stuck on something.

Queen – Too Much Love Will Kill You Lyrics 19 years ago
This was a collaboration between Brian and two non-Queenies and I think it was written in the mid 80s, so I think it's more about relationships than Fred and his illness

Queen – The Show Must Go On Lyrics 19 years ago
The song was written by Brian, not all of them. The albums from The Miracle (1989) on credited the song to all four of them regardless who wrote it to avoid arguments over royalties etc. Some of these were collaborations but I believe this one is all Brian

And Elton John's version is not better. Elton's got a great voice but he doesn't actually suit Queen's songs. His Bohemian Rhapsody and SMGO are not crap, but not the best renditions

Queen – The March Of The Black Queen Lyrics 19 years ago
There are a few Roger vocals on the albums. Check out his solo stuff. It's quite good. and his other band The Cross. There are three Cross albums - Shove It (basically all written and recorded by Roger and then he formed the band), Mad Bad And Dangerous to Know and Blue Rock. Shame they didn't keep going really

Queen – Hang On In There Lyrics 19 years ago
It was a B-side to I Want It All and I think it was always on the CD. They put 'extras' on the Magic and Miracle CDs. The Miracle also has the extended version of The Invisible Man and Brian's Chinese Torture solo.

Queen – Death on Two Legs (Dedicated to...) Lyrics 19 years ago
I agree that in the 70s at least he must have been bi. But really preferred me at the end of the day.
Great song. I agree with the comment on the live killers version. Kicks arse. In fact I love the run of songs on that album, with Let me entertain you

Queen – I'm In Love With My Car Lyrics 19 years ago
Love the rhythm on this. Me and my mate were guilty of air drumming to this in chemistry lessons back in school. Great live as well. Roger's got a great rock voice and it fits this song so well

But his guitar solo was built around this song, and that generally felt like it went on for an hour... :)

I think the song is generally credited to Roger, but with input from Freddie.

Steve Howe did do the Spanish guitar bit

It was written for Highlander, and Roger's original version can be heard over the end credits of the film
