I've loved this song forever, one of my favorite songs. And it seems the song is about a woman, pushing a guy away. But I feel I'm the same with women. When I let people in me, let them know too much about me, I get scared and push them away and end up hurting them and I think that's where this line comes in, "Oh! smear this man across the walls".
You're in the same clean room/bed when you're hurting them and smearing them on the walls, but your pushing them away has basically thrown them against the wall.
The whole part of the second verse I think fits with letting people in you and knowing you deeply, and then you kinda start pushing them away and the more you do, the more you hurt them. |

@Gotteskrieger: First off, I highly doubt that the song, "Judas" is anywhere near talking about God. I think it's more about a relationship, but I could be wrong. I just can see DM singing a fully religious song.
Second off, saying that anybody that doesn't care what happens after you die, is stubborn. So you know all of us? I'm Atheist and I can tell you I can honestly die happily without the "Lord". You're the stubborn one with that comment and don't think you have the right to call somebody stubborn because they haven't found the "Lord". |

It's totally a easy song to understand. It is a failed relationship, the title tells you that itself.
As for those 4 lines, the people got it right on the dot. "You are in my dreams" - he still dreams of her after the ending. "And just like in a movie / The one you want to see / With a happy ending" - In his dreams, the relationship is perfect, it ends with one of those endings where the guy gets the girl / vice versa.
Most of their songs on this album seem to be about bad relationships. Although there are a few that don't. |

But it is a great song and it really is possible to go that many rounds. I've done it and I was practically dancing and buying rounds. For some reason that must have been why I'd wake up with $300 less than I went out with the night prior. |

This is a great song, and the meaning is pretty straight forward. A boy wanted to be a teacher and signed to be in the military for the college fund they offer.
Well in the long run, he died in war only 6 months after being in Iraq. And left a note hidden in his helmet for his mother and father. It's a great song, that is not only simple (musically & lyrically) but very, very POWERFUL! Atleast that's how I feel! |

This song is great! I love it and it's right now a close song I guess to what I've just gone through last night.
I guess she might be a ex, unless she realizes that she was just being a bitch. She got wasted I was gonna be the DD, and well I was gonna drive her home then in the morning a friend of ours was gonna pick me up at 8:30 so that I could get my truck and get home to work.
Well she went off saying I was gonna fuck her and all that. And I know that she's already told ALL her friends about me and I didn't even do anything! |

This is a great song off their new album. If you go to the warped tour, you can buy this album before it is released at the end of September. It's also the Japan album, so it has two extra songs.
As for this song, it seems to be pretty self-explanatory. As you can tell he's talking about a relationship, a relationship that might have been more of a seperation instead of a full break up. But now she's totally just not meeting half way. He's realizing that it's now at the end, it's fully over. And this is exactly how I feel, I always feel that I'm always getting my heart carved out with a spoon. |

And he knows it and he realizes that they are "emotional" separating from each other, it's not the same as it was before. It makes me think of a time in the 1850's. Back in the 1850's there was the pastor that said he figured out the end of the world would be on a exact date in 1854 (I believe was teh correct year). All teh religious people flocked to where the messiah was going to return to (which was actually some place in the US). They sold all their possesions and got rid of everything thinking that would be the last day of their life. |

You know I have always loved this song. My old roommates wife got me into this band almost 2 yrs ago. When I moved back to California and was listening to this. She mentioned this part:

Asking if you did the right thing, how was it also contributed to the greatest fall of all time? Well I myself knew it was possible, but didn't have any examples until now. I have just done the right thing of my whole life and it now ended up being the greatest fall!
I moved back up to Oregon to be with this girl I met up here while living here before. The first time I have ever did something right for myself. Now it has ended up being the greatest fall with the girl. As it seems to be ending now. So now I really get the way you could do something so right, and end up actually the greatest fall of all time! |

Ever seen the video? This song and "Tell Me I Was Dreaming" are interlinked, they both are of the same people.
This song, in the video, is a guy named Mac (played by Travis) who got his legs shot off in war. Since then he didn't feel he could go back, after getting letter and letter from his wife, and ignoring the phone calls while he was in the VA hospital. He felt that she wouldn't love him anymore, or he had too much pride to go back with no legs. So he was pretending he didn't love her anymore. And in the end, he calls her and he goes home with her.
It's not a break up song at all. But "Tell Me I Was Dreaming" is the continuation to this song. |
