Donora – I Think I Like You Lyrics

It totally does sound like C-Span! I also thought they said "I'd for for time with you" instead of "I'd for go Thai with you". |

I don't think it has to be a romantic relationship, necessarily. Perhaps one of her friends is moving away from her, or at least she feels that friend is. To that I can relate. |

I believe you all that it is "Money is a sick muse" but I think it sounds like "Mommy is a sick muse." And because of you guys, now all I hear is "Everybody, everybody just want to play the wii"! |

I never thought premature ejaculation. I thought it was just that he, um, finishes quickly.
Is this about the same guy in "Not Big" on Alright, Still? |

Lily Allen – Not Big Lyrics

Is this about the same guy that "Not Fair" is about??
Also, some of the lyrics posted here are wrong in small ways. And the contraction for "you are " is "you're" not "your." I don't think that is such a hard concept.
I love how poppy this song feels! |

According to the booklet from her cd, she just says "we'll get Chinese." No "a" involved. |

Sondre Lerche – Modern Nature Lyrics

I cannot believe you all are getting so upset about people thinking this is about homosexuality. The whole idea of this website is to state what kind of meaning you take from a song.
Maybe he had a one night stand type of deal with this girl and now he might want more?
Or maybe he likes this girl and wants to take things slow, unlike modern nature, which has people hooking up immediately? |

Actually, "Crimson and Clover" is a song by Tommy James and the Shondells from the 1960's. It has been covered by many people, most famously Joan Jett. |

of Montreal – She's a Rejecter Lyrics

Technically, it can be spelled both ways. At least, that is what numerous dictionaries lead me to believe. Spell check, on the other hand, does not like rejector or rejecter. |

I do dig this song, but the first couple times I heard it, I thought it was Modest Mouse, whom I also dig. |

Actually Let Uss Be Free, the average age to lose your virginity is now 12. Which means kids under 12 are doing it to. Idiots. (Not you, the 12-year-olds who have sex.) |

Frank Zappa – Valley Girl Lyrics

I LOVE this song. But I want to know what some of this translates to. Like, does bu-fu mean what I think it means?
I definitely dig the "He's like, bag your face, I'm sure!" part.
I heard the girl in this song is the dude's daughter and the song was inspired by the way his daughter actually spoke. I like to think they just taped her talking, without her knowing, so I can imagine her actually using some of this in conversation. |

Rilo Kiley – Xmas Cake Lyrics

And $500+/month in student loans is nothin' compared to how cheaply you can get some presents. Plus, she probably used the credit cards to buy them, and now the credit people are coming after her because she cannot pay them back. |

Rilo Kiley – Xmas Cake Lyrics

Oh boy howdy I can relate. I recently graduated college and now have my bachelor's in fine arts in graphic design, but no job to show for it. And I am about to have to start paying back student loans, which I am going to be paying for for the next 20 years ("Or you'll be payin' them off until your kids grow up and do the same.")
It is frickin' hard to afford a place to live, student loans, and all the other necessities. Soon enough I am going to have to move into my car just so I can be that much closer to even beginning to afford student loans.
WORD TO THE WISE: Go to a public college. Private is not worth the loans.
And, as this song says - CUT UP YOUR CREDIT CARDS! They are bad news! |

Rilo Kiley – 85 Lyrics

I thought of boobs when I heard "my only plus you say they're gettin' bigger every day." And I think what she may be taking with a grain of salt is him liking her for her body.
Thinking of the movie this was in, "Desert Blue", I think -cutest aeroplane- sounds right - foolin' around because they are lonely and do not have much else to do. It was a small town, same people every day. The movie is basically about the kids, so I do not agree with -commonInsanity-.
The ""I've been a mess for some time. | Now I get what I deserve. | For someone who leaves behind a | life I can't do better. " makes me think of the kid in the movie who's dad commits suicide, and he is troubled because of it and considers suicide. He cannot do his life any better than his dad could. |

I guess I never really thought the last part was things the narrator was saying to the friend. I always thought of them as things she was thinking to herself. Like the friend never knew it was the narrator her husband was talking about. |

Rilo Kiley – Accidntel Deth Lyrics
|
Perhaps I was wrong about the Elliott Smith comment, I could have sworn he was in that band...
The lying motionless on your back and your legs not taking any more requests is clearly about sex. Like perhaps sleeping with lots of people to cover your true emotions - being a slut as a way to subconsciously hurt yourself. Or selling your body in order to make money. Or sleeping around in order to avoid being alone.
As for the accidental death/indian in the cougar's nest parts, I think that means if you put yourself in front of the gun, like to commit suicide, there is no such thing as your death being an accident. You put yourself in that situation. You knew what was to come. Like you know what would happen to you if you tried to invade a cougar's home. |

Fuel – Bad Day Lyrics
|
And on those days when no one understands, every little thing seems to go wrong.
And because you are so super emotional already, those little things that normally you would just shrug off, like spilling your coffee, smearing make up, et cetera, just seem to affect you that much more. The littlest things can make you cry.
And when someone sees you crying and asks what is wrong, you cannot tell them, because it is something you feel, not something you think. |

Saying "you would not understand" does not mean he does not listen or anything. I highly doubt her problems have anything to do with him at all.
I do not know about you all, but I get depressed and it feels like no one else could possibly understand, even if I could attempt to explain it to them. |
