Neutral Milk Hotel – Oh Comely Lyrics | 19 years ago |
you'll all understand the goldeline part better if you listen to "Oh Sister". he talks about Rose Wallace Goldeline in that song...so clearly, Goldeline wasn't just a random name. the siblings freezing together, and the Goldeline part are related. |

Tori Amos – Ribbons Undone Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Tori Amos – Sweet the Sting Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i agree with boysforpele, it is really mellow, but im glad that even now she can make wonderful music with contemporary beats without comprimising her beautiful lyrics. |

Joanna Newsom – Clam, Crab, Cockle, Cowrie Lyrics | 19 years ago |
in an older version (from the "walnut whales" ep) after she says the "starry starry starry" line, she follows up with "and you will never, ever know how very sorry you won't be I am" so AugustOfOmaha is kind of right, she definitely plays with the starry/sorry rhyme, but i don't think it can be interpreted as her actually apologizing for something... |
Joanna Newsom – Peach, Plum, Pear Lyrics | 19 years ago |
as someone said earlier, it might be censorship. she changes several lines in the song. her self published ep ("walnut whales") version of this song is really beautiful, you should all check it out. she sounds very different in that version than she does anywhere else on the milk-eyed mender album. in the older version of this song, she sings "and my valentines gray" instead of "what was golden went gray" she also changed the second to last stanza. in the original version it sounds like she says "you're so gone to some ice you've changed so reduced to tongue, eardrum, thumb, pencil and price" anyway i think this songs definitely about growing apart, lost loved ones, and all that |
Tori Amos – Precious Things Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"These precious things Let them bleed Let them wash away These precious things Let them break their hold over me" could it be about losing your virginity ? lots of refrences to youth, and sexuality. i've always thought so. oh well, just a thought |
