i'd have to say, for a conservative old school weezer fan that i am, this song is pretty close to blue album. the intro itself is so blue style. it builds up and sounds almost like only in dreams's buildup for a few glorious seconds. one thing old school weez fans need to get used to are their new instruments. bands need to change. i think this song fits weezer perfectly in their growing nature. they add pianos and a more hip sounding vocal. but its still the same old weezer, nonetheless. |

| This song can actually be taken alongside biblical doctrine. Because this will actually happen when God detaches himself from humanity at the end of the world. This could also tie into the whole tribulation era, where people knowing of a God that once existed was only something in the past. in other words, instead of just leaving the songs as a form of study material, put work to your faith, if you're a Christian and show people that God hasn't left them, and he won't leave them if they accept him. :D | |

| you're definitely right, g.zus. mtv culture has indoctrinated what is cool and what is popular. just because a band gets on mtv doesnt mean they are talented. they just look like they are. showbread could kill the hives over and over, and yes they are passionate about God. I admire their faith a lot. It's what influences me to be the antithesis in the world. and not just another blank face in the crowd. simply put, Christians are suppose to set the standards in the world. Just look at Jesus. couldn't agree with you more, unecessaryopinion. and yes, mwY is christian. i like how they're open about it at shows as well. anyway this song is like how we must not be the church in the world that the lost hate. the bible beaters and hypocrites and religious old people. that is not the church God wants us to be. It says in the bible we are the Salt of the earth. (Matt 5:12-14) Salt brings zing and creativity. Christians are suppose to be the influencers and the people that set the standards. instead, we fall and disappear in a crowd of the lost. We have to be that salt. A Torch, burning brightly, and not hidden. We have to be that fire. And unecessaryopinion nailed it when stating christians care too much about what might happen if we dare to be different. a cultural antithesis against the lost crowd. im scared. you're scared. but together, we can knock down old assumptions about Christianity being a dead religion. |

definitely a satire on hollywood and how superficial it is. hollywood is characterized as the evil that pollutes america. notice the change in vocals when it cuts to " i...am.... HOLLYWOOD" the band even said that this is something that's been in their hearts for a while. |
