The Blood Brothers – Live at the Apocalypse Cabaret Lyrics 20 years ago
I agree with burkowitz on this one. SickandTired is definitely wrong; that would be a good song. Too bad the theory only applies to two lines.

The Cure – Boys Don't Cry Lyrics 21 years ago
To me this song is about having a close friend who committed suicide, and either thinking or knowing that you could have done something to stop it.

The Get Up Kids – Holy Roman Lyrics 21 years ago
Okay, Choose Bronze, PAY ATTENTION. Nova4761 seems to be the only other person here besides me who actually caught the title: HOLY Roman, meaning Holy Roman Empire. NOT Roman Empire.

The connection to the Holy Roman Empire makes even more sense, because as a wise man once said, "There was nothing holy nor roman about the holy roman empire."

Brand New – Me vs. Maradona vs. Elvis Lyrics 21 years ago
Just a lyric correction:

With one or two I get used to the room
We go slow when we first make our moves
By five or six bring you out to the car
Number nine with my head on the bar
and it's sad, but true
Out of cash, and I owe you

should be:

With one or two I get used to the room
We go slow when we first make our moves
By five or six bring you out to the car
Number nine with my head on the bar
and it's sad, but true
Out of cash and I.O.U.s

Brand New – Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades Lyrics 21 years ago
Just a comment on the title of this song, "Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades".

The full phrase referred to in the title is Sic Transit Gloria Mundi, meaning 'And so the glory of the world fades'. It is traditionally used at a Pope's funeral.

The shortened phrase 'Sic Transit Gloria' would not mean 'Glory Fades', but rather 'And so the glory fades'. But, whatever.
