I think you people are forgetting that a song can have dual, even multiple meanings! So yes, the idea of him trying to recreate himself as an artist, and not wanting to prejudiced as an actor is 'very' viable, as does the idea of space, exploration etc. Maybe it's a metaphor for exploring himself? |

Most Placebo songs tend to have more than one meaning, and yes; typically about drugs and relationships. I don't think this song is about heroin however; as Brian admits this is the only drug he never has and never will do. Though I CAN see the relation; even though I don't feel it fits entirely. The first comment about being in a relationship and then bringing your partner down seems most viable, atl east it appeals to me the most. |

First of all, yes finding a band to state a negative unreformed opinion is sad; (even towards bands like Bring Me The Horizon ;D) yes they're very messy and unpolished, but that's the style, I just see it as very raw and immediate, simplicity is sometimes mroe effective, especially in this band's case, hence why I prefer these to Alesana, also being another one of my favorite bands, coincidentally on the same label. It's also sad the band split, especially after writing a highly aniticpated album. They claimed it wouldn't be fair to release material with about a band to follow up the tour, I can appreciate their opinion though I don't entirely agree; I'd love to hear the last work of their work produced as a full band, then again they didn't actually play UK dates that I'm aware of anyway so that's MY opinion. The bands lyrics are amazing; and I definetly relate to everyone's opinions about a suicide; or at least a metaphor for something less drastic. I've never seen any relation to the paranormal and extra terrestrials in their work; however thanks for sharing that, it's very interesting to know, maybe with that in mind I can re-listen to their song's be able to evaluate that for myself. Also; thank you for telling me the name of the side project, I'm eager to give them a listen! =] |

I think sometimes Anti-Flag can be one of the most hypocritcal bands around! I mean, isn't this whole song just stereotyping someone for there taste in music? Thi songs about telling people who put you down to fuck off. Saw them in Manchester 2 weeks back and they said they'd been gettign shit lately, wanted to tell them to fuck off and thank the fans for support. They said this song was dedicated to the people putting them down. I think it's something to do with magazines like metal hammer putting them down because theyre republican or something. Might have something to do with bands like Atreyu maybe? No idea why theis feud with those bands but would love to find out i any has suggestions. |

ok, i left my above answer a little unexplained...yes this is about the thoughts of a dying aethist, meaning hes not religious, however that doesn't mean he doesnt have something else to believe in. I.e. Alien conspiracies, spirituality. "I know your in this room im sure iv heard you sigh.. where our worlds collide" spirit worlds? Haunted bed rooms? Far fetched as it sounds thats how I interpret this song. Also; everyone has their own beliefs as to what happens to them when they die, I think this is a song about those unlucky who people who find something to believe in, and spend their dying days in absolute depression, when they could be enlightening and joyful days. |
