Bob Dylan – Shelter from the Storm Lyrics

I really love this song, but I jsut realized the version I have isn't ther version on the Blood On The Tracks album. The one I have is exactly 6:00 long and I was wondering if anyone knew where it comes from (it isnt live). |

Bob Dylan – Simple Twist of Fate Lyrics

"Are these lyrics correct? The only version of this song I have is from the Bootleg series, and the 4th verse is definitely different."
These are the lyrics to the version off Blood On The Tracks. |

This song is utterly amazing. I love at the end when the orchestra is building up; how it cuts off right before the climax. That's life. Builds you up but ends too soon. |

Toto – Africa Lyrics

Actually Rusty, I'm pretty sure it's "rising like Olympus". Comparing a mountain to another mountain in this particular instance makes sense, as he is describing how Kilimanjaro looks over Africa like the Olympic Gods looked over the Greeks. |

Death Cab for Cutie – I Will Follow You Into the Dark Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
I don't really like Death Cab For Cutie (in fact I kinda hate them) but this is a good song. I would say great because I love the progression and lyrics but everytime I hear it, it sounds like it could use a chello. There is something about adding strings into a song (violin and chello top the list) that can make a grown man cry. Just adding a little background into the song could make it better, IMO. |

Sting – Fields of Gold Lyrics
|
To everyone who is hatin' on the Cassidy version, apparently it brought Sting himself to tears whe he first heard it. I'm also pretty sure he said in an interview that he really liked it and thought it was as good, if not better, than his own version.
Now saying that, I like both versions for slightly different moods. Stings has more arrangements, while Eva's is simpler and moodier. |

Our Lady Peace – Are You Sad? Lyrics

The Live version kicks ass. AND I WAS THERE!!! Yes its true. I was at the one of the 2 concerts (technically 3 if you count that one song) they recorded the live stuff at and this version of Are You Sad was recorded at the concert I was at. It was effing amazing. The DVD and CD don't quite capture the true greatness of what it was like to be there. Still good tho. |

Our Lady Peace – 4 A.M. Lyrics

To annieneedsabandIL:
You are pretty close. Adam is 18 years younger than Raine and Raine's parents split up when he was young. So that leads me to assume that Adam is his half-brother that his dad had with his new wife. I'm guessing he didn't get along with his dad, and thus didn't see his brother much.
Hope that helps. |

Queens of the Stone Age – I Never Came Lyrics

Well incubus_gigbutt, did you ever think that the sexual undertones are a metaphor for the relationship? So technically we are both right on different levels. Many songs have multiple meanings.
And I am a big QOTSA fan. I wouldn't put it past them to make a serious sounding song that was actually jsut about something as simple as sex and vice versa. |

Foo Fighters – Razor Lyrics

"either way, a great song. It's a good way to end the album, but I kept feeling like, when it builds at the end, that it was going to just explode into some dark, orchestrated bit, which would've been rad, but then it didn't..."
I totally agree. When I was first listening to it, I was expecting it. I could even hear it in my head. Although I do think it's kinda cool how it doesn't because it sounds slighty incomplete which I think is cool. |

Cat Stevens – Father And Son Lyrics
|
When i listen to it i hear it as the Father saying he has to leave his sons life alone. The line "From the moment I could talk I was ordered to listen" to me is the Father saying that as soon as he could tell his Son about the world, the Son would tell him he knows nothing (as many teenagers do).
I can't listen to this song without getting sad and almost crying. I hear it as my dad talking to me. He loves this song and told me to listen to it because I love this kinda music. To me it was hmy dads way of talking to me without actually talking to me (cause everyone knows teenagers don't listen). Just makes me sad. |

I love this song. The electric is ight, but the acoustic is one of my top played songs ever. Number 7 to be exact (according to iTunes play count). I first heard the electric and was like, this is pretty good. The acoustic blew me outta the water tho. Amazing song. Grohl is a God (he played all parts on acoustic version). |

That first verse reminds me of Batman for some reason. If Batman's name were Jeremy it would make perfect sense. So maybe Drake was saying his friend was like Batman? |

THIS SONG IS FREAKIN AMAZING!!! It shows you you REALLY don't need lyrics to have emotion. I love Steve Howes guitar playing, mostly for the emotion you can feel flowing through his fingers. AMAZING SHIATT!!!! |

Lindsay wrote it to tell Stevie to go her own way. Duh.
I love the looks Stevie and Lindsay give each other when preformed for "The Dance". Im pretty sure they just did that for dramatics. |
