Future Islands – Inch of Dust Lyrics | 8 years ago |
And call me I'll be there always heartbreaking. we've all been there |
My Morning Jacket – Run Thru Lyrics | 8 years ago |
I interpret this song to indicate that the subject is running from home. As he's left his town the morning bells toll - sounding the alarms - to try and get him back. And often he does find himself looking behind, but that's when his faith in himself kicks in again and decides he still needs to run. Run and leave everything that held him back behind |
David Bazan – People Lyrics | 9 years ago |
"When you love the truth enough you start to tell it all the time When it gets you into trouble you discover you don't mind 'Cause if good is finally gonna trump Then man you gotta take stock and you gotta take your lumps Or else they trickle down into someone else's cup below You know" How fucking "true" |

We've all been there Sammy! |
Damien Rice – Trusty And True Lyrics | 9 years ago |
why continue to live ugly versions of ourselves, ones we never wanted to become, because of our past or situations we've been through? this song is about letting go of those hangups and moving on, accepting that those things are in the past and we should move forward. you won't be alone. |
Stromae – Formidable Lyrics | 9 years ago |
what a powerful song! |
The Black Keys – In Our Prime Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Degradation of a relationship and being fed up with issues and problems of life Dan's been through a lot, can see it in this album for sure |
Arcade Fire – Porno Lyrics | 10 years ago |
nail on the head! This song is definitely one of the best on the album. I love that AF isn't afraid to put out this type of message. |
Beck – Loser Lyrics | 10 years ago |
And elliott smith died of a stab wound to the chest. even figuratively it's not possible. |
Eluvium – The Motion Makes Me Last Lyrics | 10 years ago |
i like to think that he means he is between two different courses of action as a result of a pending decision of his. which way he ultimately chooses is not yet known. |
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros – They Were Wrong Lyrics | 10 years ago |
"So, to my child not yet born I've just one world of which to warn It lives in the mouths of choking dreams Sickness like that you've never seen" so so beautiful. |
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros – If I Were Free Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Solid! Thanks for picking up where I couldn't get it. |
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros – Mayla Lyrics | 10 years ago |
This song is so beautiful and endearing. It's a tragic story but the song really captures the way one ought to handle it, realistically with some hope. Really makes you fall in love with the man who could write a song like this about a friend's young daughter. |
Janis Joplin – A Woman Left Lonely Lyrics | 10 years ago |
as a woman's role was predominately to support and care for her man, i think this song just gives light to the loneliness of that life. im not saying the context is of the stereotypical housewife variety, but just the supportive, willing to wait while the man does his thing, partner kind. interesting since this song was written by a man. but janis's soul in this song I'm sure breaks many hearts. |
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros – Give Me a Sign Lyrics | 10 years ago |
available for free on amazon! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0099YIS9I/ref=dm_ty_art such a lovely little jingle |
Lana Del Rey – Ride Lyrics | 11 years ago |
i have to say that i am generally not that much of a fan of lana del rey. but she does have some songs that are really fantastic. although this original is good, the remix by active child is unbelievable. you're welcome - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMbt34vrb5A |
The Milk Carton Kids – Memphis Lyrics | 11 years ago |
"I guess it's been a long decline God bless the souls that shook up mine" Powerful. |
Atoms for Peace – Default Lyrics | 11 years ago |
the music in this song is so hot. love it |
Iron & Wine – Lovers' Revolution Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I couldn't make out some of the lyrics, still can't. It's not "wimper" as it sounds as if it starts w/ a R. And he definitely is saying "they wrestle us by the riverside." And finally, can't make out what he says after trophy's. May have to wait for the official lyrics. But I we think have most of it now. I just love this song. Seems like a much angrier Beam but he does jazz very well. |
Pink Floyd – Time Lyrics | 11 years ago |
terrifyingly honest. |
Radiohead – Hunting Bears Lyrics | 11 years ago |
2c - hunting bear i think might be one of the most dangerous and unpredictable missions one can set out for. and this song always felt like a cool pause in time to me. a calm before the storm if you will. an acceptance of whatever fate brings. its also one of the best songs to get high to. try it, love it. |
The Felice Brothers – Lincoln Continental Lyrics | 11 years ago |
It got me thinking, even Lincoln Must have felt a little lost sometimes. hell yeah |
The Felice Brothers – Got What I Need Lyrics | 11 years ago |
beautiful |
The Felice Brothers – Saint Stephen's End Lyrics | 11 years ago |
this song leaves me speechless |
Muse – Survival Lyrics | 11 years ago |
considering it was written for the Olympics (or at least heavily inspired by it) the lyrics need not be entirely complex. this song serves its purpose to inspire. great song and it subdued my fears of a heavy dub-stepped album. can never say a bad thing about matt's voice, too. |
Radiohead – Nude Lyrics | 12 years ago |
it's "straightforward" in the sense that the lyrics are clear about how the writer feels about his subject- but the subject is quite unclear. for me it seems like he's talking about the profit making world/individuals. "you paint yourself white" seems to signify "white collar" status. and in the end, despite their successes in life and "big ideas", there's something still missing. and i think what's missing is finding the real purpose in life that most likely isnt profit driven. |
Gypsy and the Cat – Time To Wander Lyrics | 12 years ago |
what more can you say after that? ^^^^ just that this is one truly gorgeous song. |
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros – Man on Fire Lyrics | 12 years ago |
the lyrics are "over murder and pain." keeps in the theme of the other. this song is so incredible and quite dynamic. might be my favorite of edward sharpe thus far. it's just a lovely ditty about being happy and basking in the gifts of life rather than the bad that can exist. very optimistic about the new record. love this |
My Morning Jacket – Wonderful (The Way I Feel) Lyrics | 12 years ago |
gorgeous song. what i wouldnt do to feel like this everyday: With the sun on my shoulder And the wind in my back I will never grow older At least not in my mind |

My Morning Jacket – Circuital Lyrics | 13 years ago |
jim james never fails to impress. been dying for a new my morning jacket for far too long. i love how he sometimes rushes a line in here. like in the second sentence. seems out of place but a tad funny. |
Bob Dylan – Seven Curses Lyrics | 13 years ago |
really love this song. such a little treasure on the bootleg series. the world really is missing fables and stories like this, albeit tragic. |
Fleet Foxes – Montezuma Lyrics | 13 years ago |
"i wonder if I'll see any faces above me or just cracks in the ceiling nobody else to blame" when i first heard these lines, i immediately thought of heaven. questioning if it exists at all. this songs resonates with me as just a reflection of how he used to be and how he is now, whether that is good or bad. just a change. ive often reflected on my life and have been in awe of all that has happened - the good the bad the mediocre, and questioned what is before me. |
Fleet Foxes – Montezuma Lyrics | 13 years ago |
thanks! my version of the leak cut in and out. this is such a beautiful song. |
Mumford & Sons – Awake My Soul Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Check out this link: http://www.blogotheque.net/Mumford-and-Sons,5518 for a fantastic video of the boys playing awake my soul in french. It's funny to see the french interviewer say that this song would be weird if it were a french song. |
Iron & Wine – Tree by the River Lyrics | 13 years ago |
go to this website: http://www.daytrotter.com/dt/iron-and-wine-concert/20054486-53261.html for some awesome acoustic versions of some new songs. the tree by the river is just lovely. everything you'd like sam beam to be. it's also most definitely "stuck and leaning on graces." also "parted mouth girl" and "but i wonder to who AND what it is you're saying today." |
Bon Iver – Woods Lyrics | 13 years ago |
i love everything of bon iver's. for emma is without a doubt one of the most beautiful albums created. when i first heard "woods" my first thought was, oh please oh please don't let that be autotune. hiphop has just ruined the technique and made it corny and tacky. but i continued to listen because bon iver has such a beautiful voice; his voice and the accompanying harmonies make this song is a perfect example how to use autotune correctly. this song is simple and yet still haunting. |
Simon and Garfunkel – Bookends Theme Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I don't take that perspective for the last line. I have always comprehended it to mean, to preserve your memories, but at the end of the day when the present becomes the past, they're all you have left. there all you have, of what has left you. it makes sense for me. this such a beautiful and somber song. doesnt matter how happy i may be, the second this song is played i find myself in an indifferent mood. it's not exactly sad, but definitely not happy. it's just sort of pensive. i enjoy playing it on my guitar when i don't have much to do and i can just reflect. |
Eminem – Almost Famous Lyrics | 14 years ago |
"If they don't like they can all get fucked, instead of sucking him off They can go get a belt or a neck tie, to hang themselves by Like David Carradine, they can go fuck themselves and just die" DAMNNNN |
Eminem – Almost Famous Lyrics | 14 years ago |
"The chainsaw get to waving like a terrible dial" like said above it's terrible TOWEL. like the ben roethlisberger reference, this is another steelers plug. em is actually a steelers fan this chorus is kind of creepy too, but so freaking cool sounding. |
Eminem – You're Never Over Lyrics | 14 years ago |
oh man this is such a touching song. it would make anyone sad just thinking of losing their best friend. be interesting to see this live, if he does it. |
Eminem – Cinderella Man Lyrics | 14 years ago |
i didnt get that this was about proof at all - but em. the analogy is pretty clear, just came from a really rough place where people held him back and he's rising above. the proof song is you're never over. i freaking love this song, one of em's best choruses. this album is sick. |
Blitzen Trapper – Furr Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I kind of like the fun idea that this is the story of Adam and Eve. I'm not saying that what it is but it would be interesting, the story of Adam and Eve in the non strict biblical sense. Adam was an animal of God and just did as he was told, from his mother, by God, but when he saw Eve and her pearl skin, he disobeyed, but willingly. It was then he became human and entered into a land he didn't know with her to raise their children. |
