Not actually Type O, but Peter's previous band "Carnivore". This was one of the songs that got Type O in trouble in Europe during the Slow, Deep & Hard tour, as someone got a hold of these lyrics and took them literally, making Peter out to be a Nazi.
Never mind the fact that Josh Silver, keyboard player for Type O, is in fact Jewish.

chisel fan - you're close to being right, and that may be a literal translation, but I've read (on the liner notes of a Chisel CD) that it was a story about Don Walker going back to Grafton (on the NSW North Coast) to look for an old flame.
The Flame Trees also refers to Jacarandas, which have a magnificent purple flower emerge in October. The entire city of Grafton holds the "Jacaranda Festival" around that time, and Grafton is one of the only places in Australia which the Jacarandas are so profuse.
It's really a story of love, regrets about "the one who got away", and realising that you can never go back to the way things used to be. |

I'd personally say that it means that he feels his life is getting crappier by the day and that he's doing nothing really to stop it. The idea of throwing stones in glass houses generally means that you're doing or saying something to harm yourself.
I'd also read at one point on Type O's homepage that Peter had an addiction to Hagen Daas at one point, it could be in response to that and his attempt to "kick the habit". |
