Good Charlotte – Keep Your Hands Off My Girl Lyrics
| 17 years ago

i can not BELIEVE this is good charlotte
also i can't believe the majority of people who have commented think this is worse than their previous stuff. how is that even possible?
sure it's sort of an obnoxious song, but in a cory kennedy rules a lot and makes anything cool even good charlotte kind of way |

Paris Hilton – Stars Are Blind Lyrics

everybody who commented secretly likes this song. it's okay, i don't like to admit it either, but you must come to terms with it. now, it's not like i place paris anywhere near bob dylan or joni mitchell or the velvet underground on my list but it IS good for a guilty-pleasure-songs/long-driving-trip cd sort of thing, yeah?
yeahhhhh man |

Rainer Maria – Mystery And Misery Lyrics
|
only one comment? jeez.
i don't really know what to say about it though. with rainer maria, you can't look at just the lyrics to figure out what the song means. most of their songs, like this one, create this feeling when you listen to them and you understand it very well but it's so difficult to articulate to somebody else. |

Gwen Stefani – Cool Lyrics

Oh, I know all that, feobeo. That she didn't think it up herself, etc. And I took that into account, I just didn't feel like typing all of that out. And the other comments DO fit with the song minus the video...but don't you also see the other side of it? That's what's so cool about lyrics/poetry, nothing is necessarily wrong or right. It's just what you see in it. To tell you the truth I haven't been much of a No Doubt/Gwen fan since before Rock Steady, so I don't know why I'm commenting on this song. I guess because it's like 3:00 in the morning and it keeps coming on the VH1 Insomniac music videos thing. Anyway, I like it I guess. Much better than Hollaback Girl, which was thoroughly ridiculous. |

Gwen Stefani – Cool Lyrics

Well, apparently this is supposed to be about how she's glad everything's "cool" and all that, but I can't help feeling sad every time I hear it. Especially when I see the video. I guess because it's just really hard to get to that place. In my experience, it's never been totally cool. There's always something unfinished. Something sad. So I don't know, I think maybe dawnofthedusk isn't wrong. That's actually what I thought the first time I saw the video, until I saw all the other comments on here that disagree. It's interesting to think about. |

Semisonic – Closing Time Lyrics

I don't like the birth metaphor, even if that is the "real" meaning. I don't know why, I just don't like it.
I think there are a lot of things it could mean, as long as you don't try to tag on one "real" meaning.
I like that idea better. I like being able to think of more without knowing I'm technically wrong. |

The Cranberries – Zombie Lyrics

This song brings me back to my childhood.
(Obviously not because of the lyrics.)
Because my sister used to LOVE the Cranberries and she listened to them a lot. |

Saves the Day – Take Our Cars Now! Lyrics

It's not about a car crash.
I like how he includes names in his songs. Like "Anna." And "Casey" and "Carrie" are in other songs. Those are the only three I can think of at the moment. I don't know why I like it so much. I just think it's kinda funny in a nice way. |

Fucking precious.
I'm obsessed with this song. I know I'm really late compared to everyone else who listens to the Postal Service, but I don't care.
I can't stop listening to it. |

The New Amsterdams – The Spoils Of The Spoiled Lyrics

It really annoys me when song lyrics are written out in prose.
I like this song, though. It reminds me of my best friend because he bought me this CD for my birthday last year. I'm not sure why this particular song reminds me of him, but I guess it doesn't matter much. |

Death Cab for Cutie – Coney Island Lyrics

This song is so great.
It feels like the very end of summer when you're sitting on a beach or in a backyard with some really good friends and the air is orange and yellow and pink because the sun is going down and it's your last night to make things last.
I know that's not really what it's about.
But that's still what it feels like. Because this is the perfect CD for a night like that. And this is the song that everyone would sit silent through. |

Tom Petty – Mary Jane's Last Dance Lyrics

I remember watching this music video on VH1 when I was little. The part at the end where she opens her eyes after he puts her in the ocean used to scare me because she was supposed to be dead.
I don't know what it means. I assumed it was about pot. Not when I was little of couse, but I mean as I got older I started thinking that. |

it reminds me of somebody. |

This isn't the "infinite" song. That's a different one that he doesn't share the title or artist with the readers.
Regardless, it's a pretty song. Not pretty in a nice and sweet way, pretty in a haunting way. Pretty in an alone kind of way. But that's already been established.
Anyway, I like it. |

I sort of have to agree with martyTDB. The writing's not spectacular.
But this song reminds me of the summer after the CD came out. That was my last good summer. |
