Bedouin Soundclash – 12:59 Lullabye Lyrics | 15 years ago |
If you notice at 3:14 you can hear someone say "that's it"...purposefully left in? Accidentally not edited out? |
Steve Burns – What I Do On a Saturday Lyrics | 15 years ago |
To me it sounds like Steve Burns ran into some girl trouble. On Saturday night a new girl comes into his life, so he tries to switch girls. (I Threw out the old one as soon as I found something else). I think the chorus is there to show he he has to try and hide this new girl. |
Steve Burns – What I Do On a Saturday Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Perhaps this his song about the heroin urban legend? Although it would make sense that it's about him going bald. He left the show because "he was losing his hair and he did not want kids to know he was going bald." |
Tenacious D – Master Exploder Lyrics | 17 years ago |
It's the POD that makes this song a massive monster mamajam. Hurrah for Metal/Classical/awesome. |
The Offspring – Disclaimer Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Jello is amazing, it's too bad DK Kennedys do things such as go on a "reunion" tour with an anti-jello, bush supporting war loving Brandon Cruz as their lead singer. Parental ADVISORY Explicit Content |
The Mr. T Experience – Don't Go Breaking My Heart (Elton John cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Don't go breaking my heart I couldn't if I tried Honey if I get restless Baby you're not that kind Sort of lef tout of these lyrics, but hey.. great song. can be taken very literally. |
State Radio – State Inspector Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I know a few people who have had major problems with presciption drugs for depression. So that is what this song means to me. We are popping all these pills that sometimes do nothing, or make the matter worse. |
Ted Leo and the Pharmacists – Better Dead Than Lead Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Having your dreams crushed by others perhaps. |
The Flaming Tsunamis – Cancer Swing Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song always reminds me of a poster i have. "Good news folks!! The evidence linking smoking to cancer and heart disease is still inconclusive" Not. Cancer..I mean tobacco Corporations kill off their customers only to get new ones addicted. It's sad to see the kids hang outside of school for a butt between classes. |
Screeching Weasel – Jeannie's Got A Problem With Her Uterus Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Satire of doctor's fees? modern medicine? or making fun of the female plumbing/pregnancy?! perhaps he or someone he knows actually having such a problem... |
The Queers – I Only Drink Bud Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Ben Weasel mocks Budweiser and other Anheuser-Busch beers throughout his book "Like Hell " and if i knew or could find or even make out the lyrics for Ths Bud's For me maybe i could poke at that too. |
Common Rider – Blackbirds Vs. Crows Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I'm pretty sure the chorus is "Look can you see?" Definitly a song about racism, religious and cultural intolerance, sexism and all of that. |
Operation Ivy – Uncertain Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Last night I shut my eyes all set to go to sleep, human nature scary thing, it's images burnt deep, the things that we percieve, the things that we believe, the voice inside my head that says we have been decieved That's a good chunk of the spoken words lyrics, to the best of what i can make out, I'll keep trying figure out the rest. |
Common Rider – Blue Spark Lyrics | 18 years ago |
A song about a girl from what I can see. "Me and you equals three not two 'Cause of the uninvited guest in blue" Someone coming between the woman he still loves "Flood memories tearing me apart" "Burning hands have got hold of my guts again, I'll keep talking, try to hold the embers in" No matter how he feels "Right from the drop, why try to fight?" He can't find it in himself to win her back. The Blue light, blue flame, blue spark, being symbolic of his fiery passion he holds for her. I've been there before... |
Operation Ivy – Bad Town Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Those crazy scenesters. They give themselves the label of their new trend. They're too afraid to be independant, think for themselves " like a pack of wolves they don't run alone". I don't go around saying I'm a punk rocker, rude boy, moon stomper or nothing, I love the music and some of the styles. All that matters is if you think that way, feel that way, and believe in that style. |
Operation Ivy – Someday Lyrics | 18 years ago |
When there are so many outside influences it's hard to establish who you are... "our lives are fashioned by things that come from outside" |
Operation Ivy – Sound System Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song is about the jamaican sound systems. DJ's would grab a generator, turntable and some mean speakers to have their own personal dancehall. The famous Studio One was started by a Sound System DJ. Music is always there for us "sound system gonna bring me back up one thing that I can depend on" And music is his way to express himself " contained in my music somehow more than just sound, this inspiration coming and twisting things around" |
Operation Ivy – Freeze Up Lyrics | 18 years ago |
1989 America invades Panama.... Probably what sparked Jesse to write the song. |
Coolio – Gangsta's Paradise Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song is definitly about the tough life that some people are forced into from their, poor, surrondings. The fear of death, "on my knees in the night, saying prayers in the streetlight" maybe praying for a better way of life. I think that "Tell me why are we, so blind to see That the one's we hurt, are you and me" Is trying to say that the so called Gangsta Paradise, seems to only destroy the image blacks painted for themselves in the freedom movement. Very great, solemn, song that I believe all can enjoy, no matter what you listen to. |
Big D and the Kids Table – 175 Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Ahhh, How I love Ultimate and in turn this song. Very melodic and catchy. blatently about having fun, tossing the disc around. |
Streetlight Manifesto – A Better Place, A Better Time Lyrics | 20 years ago |
This song is so.... romantic. Annie wants to kill herself but he can't stand by and watch, he doesn't want her to do it and just wants to save her. This song fit so amazingly well with some kids i know. Things have gotten much better for her since then so no need for worry. |
Styx – Come Sail Away Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Well when I think Styx, I think the River Styx. And him saying he's trying to carry on, made me think maybe it's a song about him not wanting to live. Then a gathering of angels telling him to come sail away made it fit perfectly. |
